Stop being stuck in the past

I’ve only started using this forum since the GI article, and even so, only to a limited extent. Mostly I’m just trying to get what people’s reactions are.

A lot of you are being completely childish and immature. You’re asking for a new game, but you don’t want the game to be new. You just want a shiny version of an old model. It just seems that a lot of people see something they don’t like, assume the worst about it, and then judge the game as a whole. I don’t see why people are so desperate for a classic Halo experience! It doesn’t have to be a Halo 2/3 clone to be the good, fun, enjoyable, and competitive game that every one wants. It’s only natural that the series will evolve and make changes. Why does everyone assume that they are going to be for the worse?

Now personally I have issues with some of the proposed changes; namely mid-game joining and custom loadouts, but I’m trying keeping an open mind about it. I’m sure that regardless of how horrible people make them out to be, they won’t be game breakers. Game studios don’t want to make a low quality game. The people in 343 all joined the studio as Halo fans and they want to help make the new Halo. Give them a freakin’ chance.

If the game comes out and you find out that it’s broken and unplayable, then rant. I’m almost positive it won’t be though. Now please, wait for the actual game to come out and stop judging a book by it’s cover (story).

I’m thankful to see that I’m not the only one that thinks the same.
100% Agreed

We’re asking for a new game? I’m not. I’m asking for them to support a game, but that’s impossible. They like to create a sequel every couple of years and leave every other iteration of Halo to rot and die. Apparently, it’s more “profitable”. So instead, I’m asking them to make a good sequel, not a new game. A good sequel being something that fixes issues of the past game and improves it, not reinvents it. 343 can do what they want, but I’m not interested in their vision of Halo so I’m not going to support them.

Just because you have a short attention span doesn’t mean others are somehow stuck in the past.

There is always Quake for you. Seeing you love it so much.

Did get very far before you were totally incorrect.

We want a new Halo game.

We don’t want another generic CoD rip off that looks a bit like Halo games do.

Please, explain how Halo is ripping off CoD.

It’s already been posted hundreds of times.

I’m not going to post it again just for you.

One thing I learned a long time ago is that “fans” will never be happy no matter what you do.
And as soon as you give them what they “think” they want, they will still complain anyway.

It is a never-ending cycle of butthurt and its easier to just laugh at them.

A generic CoD rip off? Where are the generic cod rip offs you speak of? Call of Duty is so big right now it dominates the market not allowing clones.

I don’t see how adding a couple of common features changes a Halo game into a Call of Duty title. These are features that are shared with a great deal of videogames, not just CoD.

Wait… Black Ops is a Halo rip because they added theater mode to their game, a previously distinct Halo feature.

A few common features with other video games won’t break this game. I’m going to trust 343 that it will still be distinctly Halo in gameplay and feel.

I bet you won’t find anybody on the CoD forums that will say Halo 4 looks like CoD.

triple this op u tell em like it is!

Wowzers. While we are excited for different things, OP, you react to these forums like I do pretty much. I for one am thrilled for drop-in drop-out gameplay I think it’s the best news of Halo 4 yet.

I don’t see how it’s an improvement. I feel like the only way that they’ll be able to implement it is to switch over to a lobby system like CoD or Battlefield where players constantly come and go over the course of games. I’ve always enjoyed being matched up in a fresh game where my opponents and team mates are the same throughout. It makes each game more meaningful and I have a stronger desire to win.
