Halo 2 I wont consider because they didnt have an AR and thats not what I was talking about.
But for Halo Infinite the time to kill is literally the WORSE then Halo 3:
Halo 3:
Assault Rifle - TTK: 1.40s
Battle Rifle - TTK: 1.34
Halo Infinite:
Assault Rifle TTK - 1.65s
Battle Rifle TTK - 1.55s

No your wrong. The AR is fine the way it is. For the first time itās actually decent. The sidekick needs a nerf. You shouldnāt be beating the AR up close with the sidekick. Thatās BS. And the BR is perfect imo.

so? the AR is a weak weapon on purpose, it requires extra input other than holding RT and running at people.
You canāt argue tho it has more range than any AR in a halo game. It can certainly hit VERY hard halfway across the map without even requiring tap or controlled shots.
Like Iāve saidā¦I donāt know if this is bad or good. It depends on if you think the game should be precision based or not.
Iām fine with it if they have modes where the AR is left out and itās br and or pistol starts.

how am I wrong, explain how a spray and pray bullet hose that kills at medium range with little difficulty is good for the game.
The AR is the most balanced weapon in infinite right now. Buff weapons around it, do not nerf it.

If you play customs without the AR, it quickly becomes apparent how the AR is the outlier within the sandbox, everything else is fine.

For this STYLE of game it works perfectly. The solution will inevitably be to include br and or pistol starts for more competitive scenario. The AR isnāt very skillful to use.
The AR could be a pickup weapon in precision modes tho.
But⦠Infinite already does that in ranked.

Its the precision of the sidekick that gets you. And are you claiming that someone tapping the trigger is killing you if you have a BR? Id really like to see that
For me I usually always have to swap to or from the AR to get a kill, the encounters where I kill someone soley with the AR are in tighter corridors where were close to eachother
I dont have the experience of getting cross-mapped from full shields with the AR either
I have experienced neither of your scenarios, do you have evidence of someone cross-mapping with the AR and killing someone with full shields?

The AR wont get long range kills without tapping the trigger and even then the shields have to be either gone or heavily damaged
If someone is almost dead and you tap the trigger on them the AR will sweep them but then one could argue it requires skill to tap the trigger on a spartan with no shields who is far away
I think if the shields recharged a bit faster a lot of people would find the AR just fine

Itās only 12 shots to drain shields, thatās not alot from a weapon with an insane ROF. Keep in mind the AR cannot be descoped and itās only 3 headshots once those shields are down.
Yeah, I agree. I want the Technical Previe Ravager, instead of the useless thing we have now. And I understand the commando was a little overpower in the preview, but darn it, now Iād usually rather go with a pistol over it, and Iād always choose the battle rifle over it. When they nerf, they nerf too hard.

If youāre again claiming that someone is tapping the trigger on you with 100% precision, while youāre simultaneously hitting atleast half your BR shots at the same range, then I just flat donāt believe you
The AR is fine as is, I havenāt experienced someone tapping me from across the map with the AR, let alone with 100% accuracy
Nor can I, a player of Halo arguing in good faith, claim that I or anyone I know can cross-map people with the AR with 100% accuracy
This is literally either a you thing or youāre embellishing a lot for no reason

I donāt mind where the Assault Rifle is. Personally, Iāve never been able to kill someone across the map with the AR, nor have I been killed across the map by an AR. I also consistently beat AR users mid-range with a BR.
Pretty positive itās one of the small handful of usable weapons in the game, Battle Rifle and Sidekick (kinda) being the big 3. Everything else needs buffs in certain areas. The Pulse Carbine especially. Commando is borderline useless, too. Bulldog is right behind it. Stalker Rifle is in the trash with the PC.

I am taking aim into account, the AR is dirt easy to aim with. what skill is there in running forward and holding RT to melt people? the AR vastly overperforms and is a big detriment to non BR start gametypes.
AR needs to be nerfed for the sake of the sandbox.
Right now, it dominates over 50% of the sandbox just because they need to be within ARās kill range to be effective.
You canāt just buff these weapons being overshadowed by the AR either. Imagine if a Needler had longer homing range or lower needles for a Supercombine. It would be busted. Imagine if the Sentinel Beam dealt more damage than it already does, and it also pierces targets. Imagine if the Bulldog or Heatwave fired faster.
The only logical step is to pullback ARās range falloff a little, or make spread at long range really wild and inconsistent.
What about no headshot bonus and more base bloom? lowering the range and HP damage in one swift nerf
