I don’t believe I’ve seen people advocate for something that takes advantage of people with money spending habits and children.

I haven’t seen people advocating for loot boxes myself, but there have been people who seem to think that the REQ system in Halo 5 was better than what we currently have in Infinite, which I wholeheartedly disagree with due to said predatory nature of the loot box system.
Also me playing 1,000 freakin’ games and only getting a few of the stuff I wanted and dreading when more items would get added to the pool.
Unlike Halo 5, we have no Warzone, so there are no vehicle or weapon variants to collect. There’s also literally no way 343 will make any cosmetic so incredibly amazing, that people will throw out big anime waifu bucks on Halo gacha. There’s nothing, NOTHING, they could make that would be worth gambling for.
Unless they make a shining pure gold coating with glowing neon yellow veins, and a Super Saiyan aura armor effect and movement effect, with supernova kill effects, there is not a single cosmetic I believe they could make that anybody would try to whale over
If they did make that though, that would look stupid good with the Victory Shout pose

Nah they are extremely opposed to everything 343i does now, but what they did over the last 10 years is sacred apparently.
The Halo Cycle continues, I guess. Newest game changed all the good from the last game, and the last game is now an underrated masterpiece

if they implemented a REQ pack system like H5 I wouldn’t be against it I unlocked everything in that game that could be unlocked through gameplay without paying anything extra.
H5 will never be a masterpiece, just a pretty fun MP and a horrendous Campaign.
Right like hell we ain’t a fan of the current system, granted I get it’s free to play but dudes don’t lock the coatings to each core… asking players to buy the same.xolor more than once is so dumb.
But God know never loot boxes… Unless it’s like a random daily lootbox that’s free just to log in like that’s the only one I’d support. Just a randomizer reward for logging into the game.

Don’t worry. Loot boxes are never going to happen because they’re forbidden to implement in most (if not all) European countries because of gambling laws. If 343 wants to implement loot boxes they have to make different versions of Halo Infinite for different countries in the world. I just don’t see that happen.
The halo 5 loot box system was very good.
You played a match (social, warzone, ranked) and got REQ points based on your performance. You used the REQ points to get loot boxes and there you got different stuff.
People played the objective of the match. Not like the challenge system, that forces you to play on gametypes that you dont like, use weapons that you are not comfortable with to get the amount of required kills for the challenge.
I dont say it was perfect, but people played the gametype they liked, played the objective of the match and had an incentive to play and stay.
Yeah I do not want loot boxes… if (and a very BIG if) I ever buy anything I want to know what I’m buying and not use “surprise mechanics”
