Stole A Legendary Boss Kill W/O Inflicting Damage?

Hello Everyone,

I played a game of Warzone on Escape From A.R.C. a couple of days ago and managed to steal myself a Gungoose. I took this Gungoose to go and fight Knight Strategos who hadn’t taken any damage from any player yet. I drove the Gungoose up, shot once at Knight Strategos but missed (from what I can see - no hitmarkers or anything). I then got demolished by his posse of Soldiers and Watchers.

Continuing on with the game, about 3-5 minutes later the Legendary Boss killed icon came up stating that I had killed Knight Strategos, ‘You eliminated Knight Strategos’. I hadn’t returned to fight him after dying from him so I don’t understand how I could have possibly gotten the credit for the kill. Going into theatre, I thought maybe I had in fact damaged him with the Gungoose and he had fallen off the map or something. This wasn’t the case as I discovered that one of my teammates had in fact landed the last shot on him from a Warthog Turret.

Has this happened to anyone? I can’t figure it out lol. I will try and post the video tonight as I forget to a couple of days ago and am currently at work! :slight_smile:

The only thing I can think of is that you got lucky with your hit (even if it didn’t show) and only one or two more players on your side got hits on him.

Noticed it so many times. One time I shot Knight strategos, wasn’t even close to being dead. Later on when my teammates killed him, gave me the kill… Didn’t even make any sense. LOL

I have received legendary boss kill credit, randomly, I figure it balances out the times, when I don’t get credit.

Something similar happened to me with Captain Hestro. I ran over to the beach and promptly got killed by the other team who were camping it without even being able to get a shot off, I respawn at our armory and get caught up defending it, a couple of minutes later the legendary kill pops up while I’m dueling someone on the road infront of the Spire.

Something wearder happened to me. I was thrown into a losing warzone match and when I was in the process of selecting my loadout I got a boss kill.
