Picked up a used 360 for dirt cheap and I’m getting halo 3. I figured if it’s still populated it’ll work a bit better than the MCC. Anyone know how many people still play?
Yeah, but the community is small. Most I have seen was 500 and not too many play ranked.
Last I played there were only about 300 people playing and that was in 2015 during the summer afternoon. You would probably need to get a group of people together to do matchmaking.
MCC’s matchmaking problems have been fixed and halo 3 is picked over the games in Team Slayer/BTB . The only issue I find is the game randomly crashes if you do Co-op campaign.
You would be better off getting MCC. Halo 3 on 360 is a dead game.

I appreciate the help everyone, if the game did happen go backwards compatible maybe a few more people would play it. Maybe I’m a little nostalgic but I’m gonna pick up and give it a try even if many people aren’t on anymore- thanks

The few times I actually log on, I usually play Rumble Pit or Social Slayer. Those two playlists still have a fairly healthy population

I know man I’m dying for this to happen!
It’s small, and you might have to wait a while to get a full team. Also, you’ve got to watch out for the hackers. It’s not fun to get put in a regular slayer game and half the enemy team has power weapons starting right off the bat.
You’ll only find people in social slayer or sometimes ranked FFA. The MCC is probably better. Also if you play on 360, you’re mainly playing people who aren’t very good.
