Another update full of cosmetic items without any meaningful change towards the matchmaking system.
Due to being graced with a pair of hands and a working parietal lobe, myself and any other functional human being that plays this game is left at an impasse. To avoid needing to go about 30-2 to barely win a game 50-49, I am required to either use a smurf account or run as a team of 4 to experience more balanced matchmaking. I am constantly required to tolerate the developers warpath to put three people that actually like their work on my team. As I’ve touched on this every season with no proactive changes given, I’m not expecting anything to happen this time either. It’s a little more in depth than talking about cosmetic items.
I expect the usual routine of people with decent stats talking about similar experiences, a few people with abysmal stats feeling attacked, and the mods locking the thread for falling into the latter category.
At this point it’s just an obligation to highlight a glaring problem from someone that wants the game that they like to not be ruined more than it already is. The silver lining is that Halo 3 anniversary was never a thing because the thought of 343i even attempting that is actually terrifying.

This is why I want ranked H3 FFA so we don’t have to worry about any teammates
Abysmal stats represented over here! Overall I don’t really care about the -Yoink- -Yoink- multiplayer though I wish they’d fix it anyways. Maybe then they can work on fixing other parts instead of just breaking the code trying to add cosmetics
Check the player count, you’re not the only one who gave up. Matchmaking is at an all time low, and looking at Infinite, I can see with my crystal ball that the exact same thing will happen.
Honestly, you basically summed up my exact experience with this game. 4v4 is next to impossible to play for me and 8v8 can be decent since there seems to be a higher chance I’ll actually get decent teammates too and the matchmaking seems to be less brutal too, at least for me. Typically, now if I even want to play MCC, I just play Firefight, or wait till my friends get on and play with them. I love 4v4 but I get so frustrated playing it when I have horrible teammates and the other team has competent people on their team. It’s just a horrible system all around and I’m really sick of it. Really hope this’ll get addressed and fixed one day, although if I’m being honest, I really don’t see anything ever being done about it.

You’re lucky. I cant even find a game these days. I started playing again a week ago, and found matches instantly. Had fun and won a lot. Now even when I search for any game mode it takes forever to find a match( Been searching at this moment for over 20 min for 4v4 all gametypes across all games on all servers). And the few matches I do get are the lopsided ones with less than qualified teammates. Either the population has shrunk significantly or there is a hidden sbmm thats preventing me from playing.
Though its sad, I’m glad i got a chance to experience my favorite games one last time before the population totally disappears come December
There’s never been an incentive to play solo other than fun…
I don’t really think that “incentive” is the problem here, but more so how the matchmaking system works.
If you’re really looking at incentive then I don’t really understand what you’re expecting here? You want to be rewarded for playing by yourself and penalise people who group up?
Otherwise, sure it can be tough to play matches against teams of players but that happens in every game. MCC is a old game, solo population lobbies are harder to come by especially if you’re playing BTB.
