Still Have Concerns for Infinite

I feel like it’s gonna be a Reach 3 and that worries me. I thought people wanted a classic Halo experience and were okay with Reach being the way it was because it was “spin off” game. People hated Halo 4 because it continued after Reach. Now Reach is the greatest Halo game and should follow its example instead CE, 2, or 3. I just guess the Reach fantasy were the loudest in the community.

I dont want jetpacks returning, or armor abilities. Unless they’re calling actual item pickups actual armor abilities. Like the flare, energy drain, camo, and that wall thing from the campaign demo. The word armor ability scares me.
Why I’m worried is because if you noticed in the campaign demo when they fired the magnum the reticle opened up like a bloom reticle. I know Reach had a title update for less bloom, but it was still frustrating. If it acts more like Halo 4’s bloom, I’ll be okay with it. With the armor looking like Reach, I doubt it. The game seems heavily influenced by Reach.

Now onto armor. It looks great. Amazing even. I just can’t dig attachments. Especially Helmet attachments. They never made sense to me. Especially since everything is built into the helmet anyways. I also don’t like they’re going beck to chest plates. If they had it to wear the entire piece changed like in Halo 4, then have chest plates. I think that would have been nice.
Anyways, thats how I feel. I’m just worried and the want the best for Halo.

You are entitled to feel how you do - and to your own opinion.

In my opinion, I think you need to be more open minded. If you want them to copy and paste Halo CE, go and play Halo CE. This should be an evolution of the Halo franchise, and it looks like it’s going to be. Chill out and give it a chance, no point worrying when its 9-11 months away!

No disrespect meant, have a nice day.

I have huge concerns about the campaign. Halo 4 and 5 were a huge let-down in the story and world development department, so I have concerns about the campaign for Infinite. However, I do not have any concerns about the multiplayer yet. Halo 5 MP was the most fun I had in recent Halo games and I think this can carry over to infinite. I don’t really care for the MTX or customization, so it does not concern me. If Infinite’s mp is a development over Halo 5’s rather than an overhaul, I can live with that.

reach had a stupid shield system that extended AR’s ttk melee combo and you could spawn with armor lock. Reaches multiplayer gameplay was shockingly broken which really shows bungie never really understood their multiplayer. Infinite is going to be halo 3’s cooler older brother, not reach.

I’m personally onboard with the huge concerns about this game, but I actually loved Halo: Reach. Personally I play halo for the campaign, as an adult I haven’t had as much time for multiplayer but I still always want to recapture the feeling of playing Halo for the first time 20 years ago. I’m hopeful based on the current art direction that infinite will turn out well, but I’m concerned about the story, and hugely concerned about visual fidelity. Personally, looking at the new MP screenshots, I couldn’t help but feel like 343 has just caught up to the visuals Bungie did in Reach. That map looks like it could easily be a 4K remaster of a Halo Reach Map. Don’t get me wrong, a 4K version of Halo Reach visuals would be amazing to me, and I’m stoked to see what it looks like, but is anyone else concerned about the lack of campaign screenshots?

The gameplay reveal showed me a campaign that looked really quite bad, and had almost no saturated colors that popped out or dynamic looking lighting. I’m scared that this recent update talked for paragraphs about how everything was fixed and how much better the campaign looked, but the only photo from the campaign is an artists rendering? If they can’t capture a single screenshot from the campaign that inspires hope for halo fans and shows the improvement they claim, that really concerns me.

Great points, a large portion of the community has adamantly requested a classic Halo experience in a new game, while Infinite appears thus far to be Halo 5 with less Spartan abilities.

Exactly. I just don’t understand why 343 can’t listen to the community.

Funny to read when people complain about classic like Halo 3 or sayin’ that Reach wasn’t good - watch the population counter - and see what is good. I mean, funny that there is none in Halo 5

The few things I think Halo Infinite is inspired by Halo Reach is the visuals, which for me is an ok middle ground. The equipment or armor abilities we don’t know for sure how it is going to work so I’ll wait for more information. If Halo Infinite is getting their foundation for the multiplayer from earlier Halos, Reach is probably one of the most problematic to be inspired by lol. A more Halo 5-y approach for me is the most rightful call imo.

Let’s hope so

Yea I kinda agree. Everyone said Reach was the best halo game ever but how could it be the best halo? thats when the series started to decline.

Some things need to evolve, there needs a way to draw in new players while catering to old players. If they want to play really classic Halo, there’s the MCC there for them!

I think armor abilities are out of the picture with the latest reveal showing camo and grapple shot shown as pick-ups.

I think when people speak of reach they’re primarily focused on the customization side of that game which according to the update they plan on having everything that was customizable in reach plus much more. I also think the more classic styling is geared more at reach with its color palette as well.

As long as 343 keeps up with the advanced movement I will always have my concerns. Personally I feel sprint affects too much of the core gameplay and map design for them to make a great Halo game. Halo Infinite definitely can be a good game sure but until they ditch advanced movement I don’t think there will ever be a Halo game as great as Halo 1-3.

Thats understandable, the phrase “armour ability” seem to have changed through halos history. But with the evolution of games they haven’t done too bad. I never thought about the helmet attachments that way, but that does make sense that typically everything is suppose to be built in. It’s a cool cosmetic, but yeah doesn’t make sense as far as that goes  we all want to best for Halo XD whatever that may be lol all we can do is hope for the best I guess XD

I’m down for the Reach inspiration. They nailed the designs shown in the recent update. I think the gameplay is going to be Halo 5 without thrust and with equipment pickups like Halo 3. So not really like Reach in this department. Armor customization will most likely be like Reach, with attachments and such. The AR draws heavy inspiration from Reach also. So it seems Infinite is drawing alot from Reach, but I don’t think it’s going to be Reach 2.0.

I hope that trusters ground pound and spartan charge arnt still in the game they just took away from that classic halo feeling and took all the skill out of the game

to me it seems like infinite is a mix of 3 and 5 especially since grapple hook and camo as pickups as i wanted it that way that was a smart move now the big question is is it one time use or can you use it until you die im thinking its a 1 time use like we saw with that shield barrier thing in the july demo to me it seems like the gameplay looks fun at its core but wont truly know until i actually play the game i just hope its well balanced my concern is the monetization since multiplayer is free to play are we only paying 60-70 bucks for just campaign or it includes the likely 3rd mode whatever it ends up being

Yeah, it made it seem like the Spartans relied too much on their armor than their actual skill (they being you, the player of course, but also the in-game lore of war games on the Infinity)
