Still Confused About Map Remastering for H2A

So obviously there will be six maps that get an anniversary treatment with the updated graphics, but I still have a few questions regarding it.

Are these the only maps to be featured for H2? And if not, do these maps get included with the rest of the H2 maps that don’t get retouched?

If the maps get redone with updated graphics, are the same maps retained in original graphics?

Is the gameplay on the updated maps anything different than the gameplay on the orginal graphic maps because I’ve noticed bloom reticules in the updated pictures as well as the shield bar being moved to post-Halo 3 layout.

Every Halo 2 map (and every map from every game for that matter) will be included and will be playable in their original engines. ON TOP of this, they’re remaking 6 maps from H2 to be played on a new engine that is similar, but not the same, as Halo 2’s engine. These maps do not take the place of Halo 2’s original maps so you’ll see:
Ascension (Halo 2 engine)
Ascension Remake(Halo 2A engine)
Along with the rest of the maps from Halos 1-4 and the 5 other remakes.

I hope this helps you.

Say I’m playing and Ascension gets picked in matchmaking. Can I hit the button to go back and forth between the original and anniversary editions of the map in middle of the game, or is it where they are seen as two separate maps and when you’re playing, you’re only playing on the original or anniversary map?

If you’re playing the original Halo 2 multiplayer, you can switch in real-time between old and new graphics.

But on the six re-done maps the new graphics are all you got.

What’s going to be different then between the remade map and the new graphics? I figured that’s all the meant for the remade treatment was just better graphics.

From what I gather it’s a more modified version of the Halo 2 engine which uses better textures and snippets of the 1080p version of Halo 4, to show off the power of the Xbox One engine.

-No, the 6 maps are not the only maps. Every single Halo 2 map (including DLC) and 2 Halo 2 Vista maps will be included as well.

-Yes. The 6 remastered maps will also be available in it’s original form.

-Yes. The engine used to create the 6 remastered maps are using a completely new engine built for the xbox one. This engine was made to be as close as possible to Halo 2’s original engine. These 6 maps were rebuilt from the ground up by Halo 2’s original map designer on a new engine. They should be awesome!

Don’t worry, every-single-little-thing that was in Halo 2, will be in Halo 2 Anniversary with a bonus of the 6 remastered maps on a new engine.

I know I can’t wait!

What I don’t understand is why the three so-far-revealed maps that are being remade have already been remade in the past.

Ascension (Pinnacle)
Zanzibar (Last Resort)
Lockout (Blackout and (sorta) The Cage)

I mean, yes, these are popular maps, but they’ve been remade to death already. Can’t they remake ones that haven’t received the treatment yet? We’re going to get like three Lockouts and Zanzibars on one disc!

No, this only applies to the campaign.

All that is happening to the original Halo 2 multiplayer is it is being upscaled to 1080p and 60FPS. It will look exactly the same as it did 10 years ago on the original Xbox, just with a sharper, smoother look. There will be no “new” graphical update like they did with the Halo CEA and Halo 2 campaigns (so no new textures or skins) done to the original Halo 2 multiplayer whatsoever.

No. You can switch between old and new graphics in the Campaign, but not in the multiplayer.

Holy hell I messed up there. Sorry guys, and anyone else that may have gotten confused over my error. It’s been a long night.
