Still alot we don't know...what's your worst fear?

According to 343, the beta was only a small taste of what H5’s multiplayer will have to offer. With that in mind, what’s your worst fear that you think is in the realm of possibility?

My worst fear is that loadouts will still end up playing a big part in the game because as far as I know, 343i hasn’t explicitly stated that loadouts are gone for good. I’m scared that that the beta being load-out free was a misleading publicity move to get pre-orders and that loadouts will still be included in all except select “Arena” playlists.

The fact that there were so few weapons to choose from in the beta makes me nervous about what the full game is really gonna be like.

I fear that the final game has these “features”:
-Killcam
-Sprint
-Fast kill times
-Clamber
-That childish announcer (EEXXF***INGTERMINATIOOOOON, DOOOBEL KIIUL)
-Thruster packs
-No teammate indicators or friendly fire. (Friendly fire played big part in halo games before)

… so im pretty much hopeless.

> I’m scared that that the beta being load-out free was a misleading publicity move to get pre-orders and that loadouts will still be included in all except select “Arena” playlists.

Why? Could you maybe take that a step further and possibly come up with a reason as to why they would intentionally remove an extremely unpopular feature to get pre-orders then add them secretly to say “gotcha!” for … what purpose? To sabotage Halo 6?

What’s the rationale?

Or do you mean to have “arena slayer” and “infinity slayer”? … that would be interesting. But probably a bad idea. Especially since there are no armor abilities. It would just be what starting weapon you wanted to chose from and I don’t see that happening.

What I’m saying is, I’m fairly certain you can rest easy on that. No one wants loadouts to return (and that’s coming from a fan of Halo 4).

I think my biggest fear is that instead of playing the game for what it is, all the 343-hater loudmouths will go on a smear campaign because they still can’t move past Halo 3 and convince all the impressionable little “noobs” that Halo 5 is for “noobs” so no one will want to play it since that’ll make them “noobs” and the game will wind up being KIA in 3 months because everyone jumped on the “I can’t think for myself so I joined in with the angry loudmouths who are calling everyone names because I don’t want to be called names by a bunch of angry loudmouths” bandwagon. Not that there’s anything wrong with not liking Halo 5, but let let everyone else enjoy the game, please.

That and launch issues. I know they’ll be nowhere near as bad as the MCC (hopefully, silver-linings here, the poor launch of the MCC has forced them into making absolutely certain Halo 5 has a flawless launch) and if there are issues, that they be very quick to respond to them.

My fear is that the story won’t delver. I’m not quite certain in Brian Reeds ability to write great stories. I buy Halo for the campaign for the most part, it failing will be much like driving a stake through my heart.
I’m optimistic but skeptical.

So you just listed a bunch of things in Halo 5. Looks like your not going to be a pro in this game.

While Brian Reed is the lead writer, he’s not the only writer. Don’t pen this all on him.

Then hopefully the collective effort makes Halo 5’s campaign fantastic.

Is there anything not to be afraid of? I enjoyed the beta a lot but still, I don’t trust 343 not to f*ck up enough

I’m just saying that I think it’s in the realm of possibility that while the beta would have us believe they’ve taken a full measure in getting rid of loaddouts, they’ve really only taken half-measure.

The rationale would be that the majority of FPS players these days expect to be able to choose their loadouts and many Halo 4 players feel the same way (for some reason) despite the vocal backlash from the “core” players. I think it’s entirely possible that the game may end up having “arena” playlists alongside playlists that include loadouts & perks and they’ve just conveniently not mentioned that yet.

I’m not saying it’s my prediction but I really wouldn’t put it past them.

I personally don’t care if haters hate because it’s not gonna affect my gaming experience unless the game drops well under 10k population which I don’t see happening.

And I’m not too worried about launch issues either because I really think that the launch issues with Halo: MCC were because of so much of the work being outsourced to different companies which I don’t think is the case at all for H5.

He’s a lot better than you are so you might want to eat those words.

I fear the bullet magnetism, hitboxes, or whatever it was that made perfect 4 shotting a breeze in the beta is still guna be present.

He doesn’t have to eat his words with anything. The post he replied to blatantly complained about features already in the game, so pardon him for inferring that the complainer won’t be a pro at H5 in particular.

Does my fears have anything to do with being a pro?

If i become a pro at video games, i would really be worried about my life in general. I’d rather be pro at other things in life

I fear they’ll bring back a bunch of things that were broken, but which people say they want, without trying to improve upon their broken-ness.

  • friendly fire with a terrible booting system- Halo 3-style ranking- quit bans as the only, and completely ineffective, solution to quittingI fear they will introduce new things which make the game, not different to play, but harder to play.
  • too-fast time to kill- thruster- ground pound- charge- clamberI fear they will create a game which loves hyper-competitive players and hates people who hate to grind.

I fear they will not have firefight. Or spartan ops.

But even if all my worst fears are confirmed, I’ll still buy it, I’ll still play it, I’ll adapt over time, and eventually I’ll love it. I even love Halo 4 and that’s supposed to be pretty much impossible. So really, how bad could it be?

I don’t fear for much, I just have hope/belief. Not much to truly fear in this world, and for my priorities they definitely don’t involve a game.

> I don’t fear for much, I just have hope/belief. Not much to truly fear in this world, and for my priorities they definitely don’t involve a game.

He says while posting on a game forum.

my only fear is that Palmer is part of the main or supporting cast.

I’m fine as long as I have Infection/Flood for multiplayer as well as the other playlists and that the campaign will have both a good story and good gameplay. Brian Reed, don’t wreck this for me.

I hope the campaign is a lot better than Halo 4’s. While people are making a big stink about having sprint (, I’m worried about that gametypes that will be in Halo 5. After watching footage of the Halo 5 Beta (don’t have xb1 yet) the gameplay goes well for arena type playlists, but what about the gametypes with 10+ like BTB? And one final thing, the longevity of its multiplayer. Halo 4’s MP longevity was terrible. Leveled up to lvl 50 one time, then went through 8 specializations each up to lvl 10. Well for me getting to the max lvl 130 was no problem. After that though I felt there was nothing left to really do except completing some of the commendations.

I fear a bad story. After many years being able to play only campaign, i learned to enjoy them. I loved every Halo campaign since CE.
