I’m in a long range DMR battle and have my opponent on the ropes. I have his head in my sights, ready to secure the kill but am denied because one of his teammates sprints by and pulls my reticle away, giving my target the narrow opportunity to escape. I’m in the Gauss Hog, a safe distance away from the Scorpion and am concentrating my fire on it while it’s distracted. I’m about to finish it off but am denied because random opponents scurrying across the battlefield and a passing Banshee pull my reticle away and allow the Scorpion to turn the corner. I’m about to snipe the opposing sniper and my reticle is on his head, yet again, his random teammates throw my shot off and cause me to retreat.
This is Sticky Reticle, and I have had very little complaints about it in past Halos, but for some reason, it is more annoying than ever in this game. What purpose does it serve? It doesn’t assist in aiming, but rather hinders it, especially when I’m trying to concentrate on a particular target amongst a group of enemies. I hate to complain, but this an extreme annoyance in this game. That is why I would like to see an option implemented (if at all possible) to turn it off completely. If that isn’t possible, then at least a reduction would be nice.
What do you guys think? Shouldn’t they have foreseen annoyance as a result of this mechanic?
