Sticky Detonator: Mid-Air Manual Detonation

I’m not sure if this has been confirmed or not, but I was under the impression that after shooting a round from a Sticky Detonator, you could not manually detonate it mid-air as you could with the Grenade Launcher. However, start watching around the 4:47 mark in this video.

It appears as though Elamite manually detonated his shot. If the SD does not allow this function, then the round would’ve continued to fly off of the map until it hit a kill barrier and exploded, but this footage indicates otherwise. The distance at which that round exploded appears to be way too close to indicate the presence of a kill barrier.

Does this appear to be the same to you all? If the SD allows manual detonation, then some of my personal grievances over the Grenade Launcher being removed will be somewhat soothed (albeit, never fully soothed).

It’s definitely debatable. I’m probably just getting my hopes up for nothing -_-
They really need to add this function to the SD.

I’d rather them just bring back the hold and release when you want it to detonate. It was much more practical than having to press RT again when you want to blow it up.

That’s news to me. But that’s way too long of a delay to be useful.

Yeah, I always thought about that clip, but I dismissed it. Mainly because it probably just went out of bounds.

The shot looked like it went out of the map for the denotation to occur.
