Should the Sticky Detonator be more like the Reach grenade launcher in that you hold the trigger and when you let go it explodes? Or more like a C4 thing where once you shoot it, you can switch weapons and do other stuff, and then switch back and detonate it whenever you want?
Im thinking it will be like C4 with a timer, so you cant just detonate whenever you want, there is a limit. But who knows.

It truly was a thing of beauty spawned from a dismal pool of nothingness. You would think 343 would try to scavenge whatever they could from Reach’s dying mass.

I think they replaced it so that they could put that proximity sensor display on it. This way we can see when someone is near the grenade without having it in our line of sight. Takes all the sport out of it imo.

You shoot, it sticks to something and you let the trigger for the bullet to explode. Maybe the beeping sounds heard in the MLG matchs is the limit.

The grenade launcher and concussion rifle were two of my favorite weapons. Direct-impact-kills would be something that could be done, and hopefully 343i will see what they’ve brought in and improve upon it.
I hear the rocket pistol is still in. Both the rocket pistol and sticky detonator function for different purposes. The R pistol will probably be the emp nade launcher.
It’s sad to say but I think we are going to be looking at a fairly useless weapon with the SD. I don’t know if a defensive weapon can be that useful in Halo where camping isn’t that useful of a tactic (sans Sword Base on Reach :p)

Regardless, the Grenade Launcher could be used for both offense and defense. From the MLG videos, the Sticky Detonator appears to only be useful for defense.
