Called the Plasma Launcher from Reach the “Jesus Gun”.

Mostly because in the Beta it was supremely overpowered - known to go through walls on Sword Base in fact. Its tracking skills even in the base game were insane.

I remember that -Yoink-. That and the no splash DMG rockets.

The Plasma Caster has become the Spam Cannon, since thats what you do with it; you spam it into a closed space and rack up the kills. Not the most funny for sure, but its there.
I call the Railgun the “nutshot” cause it drops someone as fast as if they were hit in the crotch.

I remember back when I first played Halo 2, I called the Fuel Rod Gun “Independence Day” a few times. This was before I had any idea what the weapons were named.
I thought it was kinda funny at the time, but can you guess the origin?

Also, H2 Magnums were “peashooters.” For obvious raisins.

I call the Flamethrower Burn Baby Burn since the whole point is to burn people with it.
