So Steve Downes posted this to his twitter earlier
“It has been nothing short of a galactic journey. Thanks for everything @343 @Xbox. #TeamChief #Halo5”

What do you all make of this? Kind of interesting he makes this tweet the day following a trailer that claims that the Master Chief, once again, is dead. Is this just a marketing ploy to get people to believe the trailer or is Downes possibly leaving the Halo franchise? Or is he just saying thanks? lol

I’m thinking maybe Halo 5 is a finished project or he has at least finished all his work and is just thanking and congratulating 343i for a job well done.

They might’ve gotten him to do it just to mess with us after the Chief has fallen trailer. Would make sense.

This Tweet seems more like Steve is mearly thanking 343 for their work on Halo 5. If he was leaving the franchise, Then wouldn’t he be thanking more than just 343, like, I dunno… The fans?

Come on guys, If Chief was really going to die in Halo 5, Why would they spoil it via a Trailer?

And didn’t they already come out and say that Chief wasn’t going anywhere anytime soon? And that 343 have no plans to retire him?

I’m betting that Chief will be fine in Halo 5… Physically of course…

Yeah…if they do hopefully heads will roll but you know right now 343 likely are patting each other on the back saying “we did it guys…this is ART” and people will like it because, hey, the only reason you’d not like it if you could not understand it"

I agree it will be bad on a massive scale. I just gotten in to Halo this will be my first Halo I will have gotten new day one form my understanding the halo MCC was nightmare with the MP I don’t play the MP much either on that game lets hope this is not the case with this game.

But…THE ART…it is meant to be ANGST…it’s a bold new direction and #cooldarkandedgy…and mature and blah blah blah balabbity blah blah.

Two scenarios:

  1. He’s just finished his play through of the campaign

  2. Chief does die, pointers:
    a) 343 clarified it’s the reclaimer saga, NOT trilogy. Most interpret this to mean there will be more than three games but there could be less
    b) TV spot
    c) All things come to an end

I’m guessing option 1)

i think it is not best thing to bring up mass effect 3 things on a halo forums and 343 know that if thay f up halo 5 ending then all of the halo fans will get piss off

Literally everything else Halo-related that doesn’t have Chief in it says otherwise.
