Just watched the E3 gameplay and wanted to express my sincere appreciation towards the atmosphere and the new enemy they created.
The enemies are very unique and interesting, I loved how one of them flashed right in front of the Chief. Also the shielding with that sentry drone was very cool and how the drone tossed the sticky grenade right back. Unique enemies like this make the game that much more interesting and I hope there’s a bunch of different variety.
It reminded me of a very legendary FPS game known as Metroid Prime. Not sure how many of you played that game, but that game was beyond epic. The more Halo 4 can be like that in terms of its enemy variety and gameplay, the better the (campaign) experience will be.
Yeah, i think it reminded a lot of people of Metroid Prime. Fantastic game, and if they’re gonna take inspiration from a game, MP is the game to take it from. The Protheans looked like Pirates too
I’ve temporarily put on hold my self-exile from these forums to say that I now support 343 despite their “transgressions” in Anniversary.
H4 looks truly marvelous and 343 certainly weren’t lying about the new enemies being a surprise. The E3 demo got me really excited for H4. So far, H4 fits my criteria.
Well 343i does have some of the guys from metriod prime from what i’ve heard/read. Im definitely impressed and can not wait to see more.
> Sure are alot less haters floating around
Good. The way it should be I have a few complaints but I looked/loved 98% of what I saw. All my criticism are small and none are game breaking. Multiplayer looks awesome, spartan ops looks sweet, and campaign… don’t get me started… epic does not even describe how amazing it looks
Yeah, it sure does remind me of the first level of Halo 3 in a good way. Even got sniper like enemies hiding in the trees
However, as a E3 presentation it was quite lacking, the gameplay showed was almost only campaign and most of it just walking and a scripted event. Add to that a pre-rendered sequence, boring.
I felt like even CoD showed more, video and gameplay, and quite some gameplay too. I don’t even like CoD but I’m severely disappointed at MS/343i showing us literary nothing.

This was the Microsoft Press Conference, not actually E3.
Expect more gameplay over the next few days

right
their goal was flare and to show us just enough to tease us in order to surprise us later…you know like bungie did in halo ce.
they showed us that the game looks stunning and that the canvas they are going to use is mind blowing, what else did you want? wait…MP? Sorry I could not care less about that…
Kind of funny that once you give the spoiled brats the candy they keep whining over, they immediately quiet down and smile… Until the candy is gone… Which case - we will see whiny little children again soon…

I think what we have here is people embracing their inner interests. I bet even the best mp people have a thing for campaign though I could be wrong.

So very true. The starting weapons of S117 were just wrong. The invisible barriers made it a pain to flank enemies. That was only possible at the very beginning by crouch jumping up a certain rock.
Im hoping that the rest of the campaign is less scripted and more open like the trilogy for a mlre fun experience. The visuals were amazing and i like the cinematics.
I love the symbolism, I guess is the word, of that brief Covie fight. Like the new guys were saying “Frick off, it’s OUR turn now.” Great way to make it seems like a whole new game.
