For those who downloaded and played the campaign co-op flight on Steam, be sure to uninstall it by 10 am PT tomorrow. If you don’t, the game will be removed from your library and you will lose all access to it; the game files won’t even show up in file explorer, meaning you won’t be able to manually remove it, but it’ll still take up storage space. This happened to me with the last Steam MCC flight. Now there’s 25 GB I won’t get back unless I wipe my hard drive.
Check your steamapps folder. The game files are there and can be removed manually. Worked fine during the PC flights and for every other game for the last 19 years.
Under normal circumstances, that would work if the flight licenses weren’t revoked. Here’s a subreddit where this very thing happened to two people on both the MCC and Infinite insider flights:

I ran into this exact issue as well, and below is a list of all the current Steam games in my D: drive:

You can see there’s an app there that’s unnamed, and when I press the UNINSTALL button, absolutely nothing happens. However, it still gives me the option of moving said app, and when I attempted this, it gave me the Steam App ID, that being APP 1064290. A quick Google search showed that it was, in fact, the MCC Insider flight. Whenever File Explorer was used for the removal process, the same thing that happened in the above subreddit would occur. The app permissions were revoked, meaning access and any ability to modify the file are gone on the user’s end.
Remove it under Linux live CD or pen drive. You might have to change your boot drive preference.
Yeah I was about to suggest the same thing. Maybe he can try the command prompt (admin) and try to delete the dir/files there or boot windows in safe mode and try it this way. Kinda insane to go through so much trouble to just delete a few files.
@Cybernyde thanks for the detailed description. It sounds incredibly dumb and amateurish and sadly fits perfectly to 343…
I hope you’ll get that rubbish deleted.
