STEAM: Black loading screen crashes

After launching Halo Infinite on Steam, a black loading screen appears with three dots in the upper left, but then the game crashes once Halo music starts playing after a few seconds while still in the black loading screen.

I am getting this crash report: “halt information: TDR (HR=0x887a0005, Breadcrumb: <Breadcrumbs Disabled>): The GPU has hung, crashed, or been removed. Please look at TDRBreadcrumbSummary.txt for more info.”

I have a 970 GPU, and it seems like people with this issue have the 900 series as well.

Any advice for us?

Unfortunately from reading the following article, it appears you may be experiencing a known issue:

"PC

I would recommend submitting a ticket at the bottom of the referenced page to help their test team arrive at a resolution as swiftly as they can. Within your ticket, it will most likely ask you to submit a dxdiag file and will instruct you on how to do so. This will give them your current configuration/specs to further assist with troubleshooting.

Hope this helps, happy hunting!

Same issue here. 970s

Same for me, GTX 980 with latest driver

Also experiencing the same problem with my GTX 970 and latest driver.

1080 here and getting it.

same, GTX 970

same issue. 980 :frowning:

same issue on steam. 2070

Same issue, GTX 970, latest nvidia drivers and intel 4790k not overclocked.

Just have to wait and see if they update the game, or try some of the workarounds. If nothing, we’ll just have to wait till next flight and see if they fix the issue.

Sad. Same here - GTX 970. Raised a ticket about 5 hours ago. I’m so impatient I really want to try out the game man.

1070 here and my game isn’t crashing but stuck at the 3 dots for what seems like infinitely.

Ok, I found the problem. What ever you do do not install the game on any drive other then your C drive. doing so breaks its loading something heavy. doubles load times and prevents the game from connecting to servers.

At least this is one source of the problem, there are many others.

I’m having the same problem.

I also have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 GPU, and after experiencing this issue consistently (100% of the time, roughly 30~ attempts at launching the game, only to have exactly what sleepyh0und described occur) each time I boot up the game.
I did some research, looking for a workaround. Apparently, this is a very common glitch, (enough so that it was on the Known Issues page, before the Technical Preview and Flight even went LIVE yesterday) and is affecting those using a GeForce GTX 900 Series card.

This is a Severity Level: CRITICAL Glitch.

Is there a fix for this, or a hotfix coming soon?

Not just the GTX 900 series apparently
I’m using a GTX TITAN X and have the exact same error

I’m using a GTX 1070ti and I’ve got the same issue as well.

Same, Quadro P5000, loading screen on launch, then freeze, then crash - no title screen lol.
The beauty of test builds!
