Hello Spartans! I’m so excited to finally play on PC this awesome series, but there is some issue with the Steam version i don’t know how to fix. When i first launched the game and connected the game to the Xbox account (with 141 achievemnts of the MCC already unlocked) the game unlocks only 25 achivemnts on steam i previosuly had (mostly H2A and “cross-game” achievemnts). Already tried to reboot the game but still it doesn’t unlock the remaining 116 achievements, i also unlocked two Halo Reach achievements trying to “trigger” the other unlocked ones (i tought that the game could have checked the other achievements progress when unlocking a new one).
Do you know some way to fix this or to force Steam to check again which achievemnts are already unlocked on the Xbox account and which not? Thank you.

> Same issue. 44 out of 188 and i got one secret achievement unlocked in Halo Reach by just starting a game. That’s a bug.
Yeah i got two totally random Rach achievements, hope they fix it soon. Something similiar happened to me with Borderlands GOTY Enanched and 2K games basically told me they didn’t care and can’t do anything about it…
That spoiled something for me about the game, i like to get my achievements myself! )
I issued a refund for Steam version, will probably be buying Microsoft Store version, as it has the same achievements as on Xbox version. Or will just continue to play Halo 2 on Xbox, as i only finished Halo: CE.
I’m having something similar except I don’t earn any achievements. I linked my steam to my Microsoft account and noticed that 1. after multiple hours of games I had no record of said games 2. no achievements awarded 3. my in-game level increases but is not displayed properly.

Same here, I’m getting no steam achievements and no stat or medal tracking. XP progression and armor unlocks are working fine, but I think I’m gonna wait until this gets resolved before playing again.
EDIT: Stat and medal tracking just started working for me, it might have to do with deleting the microsoft domains from the Windows host file, or it might’ve been something on their end. I also managed to unlock 3 achievements, but I’m Sorry Dave, Questionable Callouts, and Easy to Overlook still aren’t unlocking.
Yeah, stat tracking is a hugeeeeeee deal in Halo I can see Steam cheeves not worknig properly, but basic stats? Not a great start 343i. At least my game hasnt been crashing like with the original MCC release. No playlist resets yet either thank goodness!
0 out of 700 achievements unlocked after playing the campaign co-op legendary on Steam, I paid 10 USD, and played the campaign on co-op legendary a couple matchmaking games and no stats no achievements nothing. 0 out of 700 achievements unlocked on Steam Reach PC. 343 please fix, I left a negative review on steam. Wasted 9 hours beating the campaign on legendary.
I am also not unlocking achievements. I figured that out when I beat the first level on Legendary, so at least I didn’t waste too much time. But I’m not playing this until the achievements bug gets fixed.
Zero Achievements unlocked as I have played 6 missions of campaign on reach so far and when I check my stats, it says that I have played 0 minutes and Have killed 0 enemies. this is just classic comedy level bug.
Yeah I am in the same position, unlocked like 80 achievements so far on Steam (with some being Reach already and mainly only Multiplayer achievements) out of the original 597 before launch, this needs to get fixed before CE comes out on Steam. My Xbox Achievement Profile is correct. Right now I should be at 607/700.

> Its because Halo Reach is only out at the minute for Steam. Once all of them release the achievements will unlock.
Lol what? Each game has it’s own set of achievement. A Halo: reach specific achievement has nothing to do with a Halo 4 achievement.
the game stats are broken too maybe theyre waiting for Halo 4 to be released to say how many enemies I killed on Reach campaign?
Im having the same, no achievements and everything at 0 in the career tab (minutes played, medals earned, EVERYTHING). I tried reinstalling the game, getting out of the profile and back again, and nothing works.
If that wasnt enough, I tried the game on PC Game pass and after downloading it three times (22 or so gb download, so the full game) it says that some content is missing or still downloading, and I cant even play some to see if the windows 10 app version tracks something.
So, I paid 40 euros for the full game because I love halo and I have the PC Game pass but I am still locked out of getting any progress or even just playing the game. great.
When I first logged in to XBL via Steam I got awarded something like 60 achievements immediately. But on the Xbox version of MCC I have over 500 achievements in the game, and those are still yet to unlock on Steam.
I have tried logging in/out of XBL via Steam including restarting the Steam client, and I have tried playing the Xbox version of the game too. But that did not seem to trigger an update.
I am still able to earn Reach achievements though, as I played through campaign and was getting the chapter clear and other achievements when applicable. They also correctly synced to the Xbox version. Just that for some reason Steam isn’t grabbing all the ones I previously earned on Xbox so I hope that will be fixed.

Yeah, as alluded to here, the issue does have something to do with accessing Microsoft hosts.
However, my host file was unmodified. But then I realized that my pi-hole (https://pi-hole.net/) might be blocking it. I tried running in cmd.exe:
So I checked pi-hole, and noticed it was blocking the following 3 domains from Microsoft:
vortex.data.microsoft.com - v10.events.data.microsoft.com - settings-win.data.microsoft.comSo once I whitelisted these, stats, achievements, and competitive rank started working! Not sure if all are required to be whitelisted. To test for a possible DNS problem, just make sure you run ping on the domain. The ping itself doesn’t have to work, but you should see that it’s able to resolve to an IP address.
Example cmd.exe output of DNS working:
> >ping vortex.data.microsoft.com
>
> Pinging cy2.vortex.data.microsoft.com.akadns.net [64.4.54.254] with 32 bytes of data:
> Request timed out.
> Request timed out.
> Request timed out.
> Request timed out.
>
> Ping statistics for 64.4.54.254:
> Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),
However, all of that being said, I am a little nervous about opening up access to all of these microsoft telemetry servers. I wonder what data besides game stats and achievements Microsoft is collecting on us?
