When I dive into my weapon stats on Halo Waypoint, it shows kills, shots hit, shots fired, and headshots. That headshots stat, is it the total number of headshot kills or is that the number of headshots I’ve landed on enemies.
For example, if I get a perfect kill with a BR, is that 4 headshots or just 1 headshot added to that stat column?

First, kinda nit-picky but assuming you aimed at the enemy’s head and landed every shot, it would actually be 10 headshots (since the 10th bullet is the one that causes the kill - the final two from the fourth burst are just extra.), not 1.
And that’s why I’m fairly confident that your headshots stat is the number of kills you’ve earned via headshot. So just the last one.
