I would personally love the removal of random Ordnance drops. Static weapon spawns(Like all previous halos) add a layer of strategy to each game. Relying on your ability to time weapons suits halo better than relying on your luck. Being able to set up for a power weapon and winning the battle is a incredibly rewarding.

I agree with the OP, Ordnance as a whole just doesn’t work for Halo, and needs to be removed from maintream gameplay.
As a mechanic for a Action Sack gametype? Sure, but leave it at that.
Read the linked post and agree on some points. I don’t think necessarily that Ordnance need be rid of completely, but it does require a total overhaul.
First off, completely agree on static spawns for maps. They handled Ragnarok rather well, having the symmetrical Snipers and the middle laser, but then there’s other maps where it starts with balanced initial drops and then the game decides to only drop Incineration Cannons, Snipers and Needlers the rest of the game.
Sometimes the simpler route for something is the better route. I’ve played (and loved) Halo 4 since launch day, but I went back and played Halo: Reach and Halo 3 for a few local games against friends and the dynamic spawn system has some merits that I missed playing those games, but the static spawns just provided more consistency to the matches.
This is not to say, however, I want to be completely rid of dynamic spawns. I believe it would work as a ‘supplement’ set of drops in addition to the statics. What I mean by this is have most of the power weapons static, then have loadout weapons and perhaps one ‘soft heavy’ drop that is dynamic, ‘soft heavy’ being things like Concussion Rifle, Sticky Det, Shotty/Sword/Gravhammer, Plasma Grenades (I don’t believe Plas. Grenades should be loadout included, but that’s another argument) as opposed to just Heavy; your FRG, Railgun, Rockets, Incin. Cannon, Sniper/Beam/Binary Rifle, Splaser… you get the point. Primary difference here being effective range, even though all of those ‘soft’ ones save the Concuss can OHK.
Now, in Action Sack or Custom Games, anything goes. The system will still be there for use in these places for everything if it’s wanted. However, as it stands, sometimes I feel like I’m playing Action Sack when I’m in BTB.

Why not give us the option? I vote for a more in depth and alter-able custom games system. As far as matchmaking goes, give us the option as well! Let us vote for it, or let us choose a playlist without it.
