I know this has been posted before but after the last two weeks I’m almost done with halo I love this game when it works it’s so much fun but 9 out of 10 games are becoming unplayable today using a br at point blank I had to reload to kill a guy that was AFK and watching pingys latest vid on YouTube showing just how bad it is for us here is there any hope of improvements geo lock or anything so that we can play people with a similar connection and before you start focused doesn’t excist for us here and I’ve yet to find a game on balanced in a year so it’s expanded or nothing

It’s such a shame that it doesn’t match up to the reliability of Star Wars battlefront!
Imagine that game with Spartans instead!
I’ve totally lost hope for Halo 5 multiplayer though. I guess us Aussies are stuck waiting for Halo 6 for another Halo game to play online.
Nah, I’ve been under the impression the game has been dead here in Aus for a long, long time now. The only times you can actually find balanced games is in the weekly social playlist they release (I think this weeks one is the railgun/rocket one?) and you might be able to find balanced games in the HCS playlist if you’re between gold-plat rank.
Trying to find a balanced game in any other ranked/social playlist? Lol, goodluck. It’s going to take the next iteration of Halo to be released before we see the numbers in Aus rise again.
On the other hand, the Australian competitive community is always hosting 4v4 HCS customs every day. I actually think that the only people who play this game in Aus consistently are former/current competitive players.
I have tried finding games in many playlists and for pretty much the last year i have only been able to find games in Firefight and Super Fiesta. It is a real shame because i often try to get back into this game but it is extremely hard when we cannot even find basic matches. I often just stick to customs now as that is pretty much the only way us Australians can experience a full lobby these days unfortunately.

The wierd thing is… I’ve been meeting more Aussies recently than Brits.
What mode is this? Warzone Firefight and Turbo are fine for me and I’m from Melbourne.

Mainly arena but I do get some brutal games in Wz assault and normal Wz but they are generally better or it’s not as noticeable as you can get better weapons etc however I have been outgunned multiple times when I’ve had the answer by a standard Ar and I’m not missing a shot which is infuriating !!!

How are your games and lag etc ids it consistent and good ?
It’s fine here for me in Sydney. It could be the servers or it could be your internet. If it 's your internet, your Wi-Fi’s download and upload speed could be a factor to these laggy games you’re experiencing.
Would be nice to tell your Wi-Fi’s upload and download speed so we can try and dig down to the problem. I’m no expert, but that’s what I can think of.

Yeah it’s brutal 7mbs down at best and .5 up but that’s all I can get I’m in Sydney aswell but no NBN anytime soon and can’t get get cable either though. I can’t get 30 down and 15 up on my phone Australian internet is garbage

Nobody can be on the same playing field all the time. There are simply too many americans playing the game to make it fair for us.

I should adjust my complaint about multiplayer. Those modes work fine for me (most the time) but god do they get boring when they’re the only ones that do.

As an Aussie (Geelong) south-west of Melbourne with fibre cable internet, even I occasionally suffer lag in Halo online. I’m no expert, but I attribute this to being connected to US servers and whatnot.
As I said, I’m no expert, and nor am I a massive Star Wars fan by any measure, but why is it that Star Wars battlefront is still going so strong online, even for Aussies, and Halo is just crumbling inwards?
What structure are EA implementing that works so much better than whatever is being done for/with Halo?
If you’re playing on Australian servers then you probably won’t lag unless the internet in your house is being used. If you have anything better then the standard ADSL connection then you should be fine playing on Aussie servers.
On foreign servers you will always experience lag. Even having the best internet in Australia will still cause you to lag playing on foreign servers.
Anyways, ranked play in ANZ is dead at platinum rank and above. I struggle to find games even when I’m not ranked in a playlist searching balanced (Although this could be due to my hidden Matchmaking Rating being higher then the norm - I was onyx in a lot of stuff). I feel like this is because most people in ANZ struggle to rank up any further than gold/plat where I actually am able to find good connection games. It sucks, but what can you do. Fortunately, most people at lower ranks can still find balanced games, so more power to them.
I remember back when Reach was released and there were no ranks for a while. The MLG playlist had so many people quitting out mid game because they’d vs. top 8 players in Aus and get absolutely man handled. Fun times.

Oh. That explains a lot. I just go to my uncle’s house which has NBN just to get less laggy matches then in my house.
My uncle’s speed is:

- 12 mbps down - .5 mbps up
