State of the Community

I began posting on the forums with the hopes of finding a new, revitalized Halo community. I was hoping that I would find a sense of companionship in this group in a positive, constructive way. However, the forums are littered with negative posts about the current Multiplayer functionality of the Master Chief Collection. Guys, Multiplayer is only half of the game and it’s still partially functional. Yes, it has its bugs but what doesn’t at release? Granted, the Multiplayer flopped pretty hard but 343i is working 24/7 to get this game fully functional by the end of this week. These issues were unforeseen and could not be detected at an earlier stage in the games production. So my message to all of the Negative Nancys out there, take a chill pill. It’s not the end of the world, just wait 4 more days and the game will get there.

Thanks,
<3 Bigfoot

EDIT: Please let me know your thoughts on the current "State of the Community"

No parts of the game works for some people. Why don’t people get this?

I have yet to hear about a single case of nothing whatsoever working for someone. Refer me to a case of this?

I joined the forums in hopes to hype me further for the launch which it did and then continue it in the weeks to follow but that is not the case. These forums are more broken then the game :frowning:

It really is a bummer seeing halo being put in such a negative light, sony fanboys are having a heyday with this, all of my friends who I looked forward to playing this game with are mad and jumping over to CoD, but really at the end of the day the MCC won’t be broken forever, this game could be fixed sometime in 2015 and it has the gameplay to bring back every single person who swears it off…plus we can’t sit here and act like a roaring start really means squat, remember halo 4?

Yeah I hear you, I’m very disappointed more so in the community than 343i. It seems to me that gaming communities are not what they once were. A bunch of immature kids and teens now ranting impatiently and posting chat logs because they preemptively want a refund on a game that hasn’t been patched yet for it’s major flaw.

Thank you for mentioning Halo 4. That game was so hyped up but just didn’t stick around in popularity very well. Even the professional scene died out during Halo 4. I remember when Halo 2 and Halo 3 MLG events were going on and EVERYBODY who was somebody was watching the pros battle it out in tournaments. Ahh the glory days of gaming.

Also, the new Halo 2 Anniversary engine was beautifully engineered and designed. I really do think that it will be fantastic for bringing Halo back into the eSports spotlight. However, I am greatly worried about Halo 5. After watching the gameplay of Halo 5 multiplayer, I’m afraid it looks just like Halo 4 with the exception of some new B.S. jet burst strafing techniques. I’ll admit it looked like a good idea at first, but after dwelling on it for a day or so, I am not so sure it will play out well with the community. I mean, is it really better to keep things simple and fair in multiplayer? After all, the two most popular Halo games were Halo 2 and Halo 3 and they had one thing in common… GOOD OLD FASHIONED BAREBONES COMPETITIVE GAMEPLAY.

here’s the thing though, what killed halo 4 was that alot of the things they added (armor abilities, loadouts, ordinance) took the halo feel out of the game, it was too chaotic and nobody was quite on the same level as each other because there was just so much behind the scenes stuff going on that strategies just fell by the wayside, you never knew who had power weapons (or what they had for a weapon in general) who had what armor abilities or perks so knowing how to fight these people became more difficult, halo 5 is eliminating that, everyone starts with same weapons and power weapons are on the map, only difference is halo 5 is keeping the speed of halo 4 which quite honestly I enjoyed

Not for me, no games in the last day and a half. Backing out, changing playlists, hard reset of console.

Multiplayer is more than half the game. These campaigns are 12, 10, 7, and 2 years old. We love 'em, but we’ve played 'em. MP is not letting me into games and it’s not going to be fixed by telling me that my problem a) really isn’t happening, or b) really isn’t a problem.

Sure, the community can go overboard in the negativity, but a dramatic reaction to this problem doesn’t make the problem itself a non issue.

The state of the community is absolutely horrible but in a way… it should be.

I still love MCC to death and I’m not a person who rants or someone who instantly returns the game out of frustration. I simply post problems that I’m having with the game and there are a lot of them which is really unfortunate. Halo 2 is practically the only campaign that seems to work for me almost perfectly. Single player is fine for Halo 1 and 2 but Halo 3 and 4 is where the frame rate takes a dive. As for coop, it almost never works and the bullet lag/disconnects (Halo CE, Halo 4) and fps drop (Halo 3) is horrendous.

I really hope 343 can figure out the main issues and stop the forums from being plagued by negativity. At the same time, I understand how frustrating it is for some people. It just isn’t worth the time going completely mental and spamming the forums all day with complaints. The issues by now are probably confirmed priorities for 343, so restating the obvious or posting that you returned the game to your retailer doesn’t mean a thing.

Multiplayer is not the only part of the game that has been experiencing major issues. People have reported the game crashing, freezing, slowing to a crawl and failing to load in every game mode, not to mention all the content that seems to have been lost.
HERE IS A LIST OF BUGS AND FLAWS [PLEASE UPDATE]

Yep, just like those issues that Halo 4 had with fileshare. Only a week to fix that… Which then became 4 months. Well, obviously the mountain of issues that 343i has to fix here are nowhere near as complicated to fix as search functionality for a filesharing system.

Really? I thought that’s what testing was for?

Do you really think 343i can fix such an enormous amount of problems?

No I do not and I am tired of the “chill duuuuude” people coming on here giving 343i ammo to sit back and collect interest on our money!

Fight the Power! I sent you a pm as well.

Y’all are to soft haha. Criticism is a must no matter how harsh.
