State of servers in Australia

Any updates at all about this? I can’t get a match at all in South Australia with 100mbps down and 40 up without setting my search stuff to expanded. Its painful a lot of the time. Its probably about 1 in 5 matches that actually feel fair, where the rest lag a whole lot.

It’s been almost a year since my last Arena match with “Balanced” settings on (NSW).

I honestly don’t think there are servers in Aus to be honest. As, for example, when I create custom games with all aussie players in the same state (it apparently starts its own dedicated server) we all still lag as if we are connecting to a U.S host. We have no issues playing any other game by the way, it is just Halo 5. Even Halo Online on PC has less network issues than this.

So either there are AU servers, and they absolutely suck, or there are none and we connect to U.S ones.

In one of our waypoint customs nights, there was an Australian kid there. He said that the servers weren’t as bad as people say. For you it may be different though.

could this have something to do with NBN implementaion?

We’re on the NBN, hasn’t made a difference. I have heard from other Aussies that they can play alright so I’m not sure what the go is. I’m in South Australia.

I’ve found the servers to be quite poor the last couple of weeks. Many games have had lag, players jumping around and being shot through walls constantly. Dying from a single melee hit. Also being kicked from games.

Its always happened to some extent but nowhere near this frequently for me. Hope it gets fixed.

Most of my recent games in Halo 5 have been stable.

I’m a fellow Aussie player like you and if you’re asking where I live, I’m live in NSW and my Wi-Fi goes 12.5 mbps download speed and .5 mbps upload speed.

I’m in Queensland and my games have always been fine.

Most likely.

Sydney here but been having many games where I’m getting shot through walls regularly, shots not registering. Seems fine some games but then others are pretty bad. My connection seems fine as it’s easy to tell if it’s me I just start rubber banding.

Anyways, after more Aussie players to team up with if anyone is keen.

It might be where you’re located at or you’re connection possibly, I’m from the Central Coast (Sydney) of Australia that gets some connection issues, sometimes bad, sometimes meh

That upload speed it what probably kills you. I know since I moved out in middle of no where and best I could get was 3 download 1 up. I have had all sorts of matching and lag issues. For 6 months now. Everything was gravy when I had 300 down 100 up.
Btw I am a USA player. So I am sure it’s my net speed. Tons of players here

I can only match in Warzone firefight on Balanced. I might be able to match on Team Arena and Infection on Expanded if i’m lucky. That’s about it though. My games range from no lag, Slight lag and absolutely unbearable whenever the hell it feels like it.

Well…Crap!

Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.

I live in NSW with 30mbps down and not even 1mbps up (I know, pathetic) I’m with Telstra, cable internet, I think. I’m always on expanded and I always find a match, usually takes a while, but I rarely experience lag. And it doesn’t really bother me. But how da hell do you get 100mbps down and 30mbps up?! do u have like an internet booster or something? But very rarely I get a match on Warzone on balanced, that’s why I jeep to expanded.

idk what’s wrong with your internet but i live in Sydney and get close to no lag unless im downloading something. even on expanded my internet speed is like 1 to 10 mega bites per second or mbps

How the -yoink- do you guys get that speed? 300 mbps down and 100 mbps up is expensive here in Australia. The highest speed here I tried is 50mbps down and 10 mbps up.

Download speed is not the problem…as I said all of my friends in Aus lag as well, not just me. Second, “lag” =ping/ms of the match, not download speed.Thirdly, you make no mention of being able to find any matches.

Cable company’s beening using more than 1 channel to boost speed. The lowest speed in the area I was at is the 40 line.
The 300 was 150 a month.

I’ve been searching on expanded since they added search preferences. Before that I could only find matches in Team Slayer, Team Arena, and Warzone. Now, even those playlists have to be set to expanded to find games.

The game is dead in Australia.

I wish 343 can fix this
