At the beginning of a game do you tend to spawn in the same place within your teams formation ?
For example on Hemorrhage (Blood Gulch) I am normally the guy spawning nearest the Wraith.
Maybe because I don’t join in a party ?.. or because I live in Australia, perhaps getting the ‘last’ available slot ?..
I am an Aussie too and play in parties in BTB and i find the spawns quite random on Hemmo. Sometimes i am the one nearest the wraith on both blue and red team spawns and sometimes i am not.
Initially I assumed it was random but 8/10 times I am nearest or second nearest to the Wraith.
So I assume there is some reason about where you spawn within your team… or it’s just been a mad co-incidence for me all this time (!)
When I play BTB, i spawn in the exact same spot as you every time.
I gave this some more thought and now i have seen Deluca34’s comment my hypothesis makes more sense.
You know how as players we are listed in alphabetical order in our teams list in the pre game lobby i was thinking that the starting spawn may relate to your position in the 1-8 lobby. The fact that both your names start with the letter D may see you guys in a similar spot on the 1-8 lobby each game and that is why you always spawn near the same spot.
You have my curiousity now so i am going to observe this over the next few weeks amd see if i can find any evidence to back it up.

Whoa! Curious.
I should be more specific, that is spawn placement blue, red spawn i am usually second closest to the wraith.
An interesting consequence of this is that it has affected my play style…
For example initially I used to shy away from the Wraith (“I would just stuff it up for my team”… and initially I did). But then I find myself almost obliged to use it (at least to keep it from enemy hands). Now I have developed (reluctant) expertise with the Wraith on that map.
I think this applies to other maps too… Countdown I tend to be nearest concussion rifle… Asylum I am farthest from sniper rifle etc… it kind of shapes your expertise.
I wonder if you are ordered by name somehow… I will pay closer attention…
