Whenever starting MCC, before the game makes it to the menu, my PC will consistently reboot every time. It only happens when opening Halo, and no other game. It never seems like my PC looses power, it simply reboots windows. Not even a BSOD (I turned off restart on system failure). When looking in Event Viewer, I always find:
A fatal hardware error has occurred.
Reported by component: Processor Core
Error Source: Machine Check Exception
Error Type: Bus/Interconnect Error
Processor APIC ID: 6
The 5600x and 3080 were installed only a few days ago. If anyone has any helpful info please let me know. Thank you.
*EDIT
I also found that when looking in steam after the system crash, MCC appears to be not installed on steam. The files are still there, and Steam eventually recognizes the existing files and the gives the option to launch after I click install.
Yep… I’ve had this error come on since the newest update and slightly before. 343 have completely botched this update and the game overall (no surprise). I don’t think there’s a fix currently for this but they will all tell you to submit a ticket which I also recommend. The only way this lazy developer will listen to us is by submitting a mass amount of tickets regarding issues. I’m sorry…

Well at least I’m not the only one. Thanks for the reply.

Actually submitted multiple tickets on the same issue is counterproductive. If you’ve submitted ONE very detailed ticket, it will be handled in sequence. Flooding the ticket system with the same issue would only slow ticket processing times because now there is more “garbage tickets” if you will. Open tickets that have been resolved already in your prior spam as an example.
Yup, same thing happening here too, ryzen 5 5600x reboot (no bsod)
Have also submitted a ticket a few days ago.
Others on reddit with cpu having the same issue:
I have the same issue, using Ryzen 5800x, not sure if the issue is related to the CPU that is in use. When starting MCC the PC reboots. Everything else is working fine. I have also uninstalled and installed again but it didn’t help.
I just wanted to add that I have the same issue. I have tried all kinds of different ways to troubleshoot this issue.
My system:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x
Graphics: Nvidia RTX 3070
Motherboard: ASUS TUF Pro
RAM: 32GB
Storage: Sabrent Rocket 4.0 1TB
Power: Corsair HX750
Windows 10 Pro, freshly installed.
Typically my game will hard crash within 30 seconds of loading the menu screen in Halo MCC. This occurs wether I launch it from Steam Link Library with the EAC enabled or if I launch it from the windows shortcut. Every so often, the game will not crash immediately, and I have played it this way for several hours without a crash. (has happened twice).
However, If I launch the game from the Steam Library page, and choose to launch the game WITHOUT Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC), it will play without crash. I have played through Reach and some of Halo 1 this way. Unfortunately, this disables all achievements, and I really do enjoy those imaginary internet points. I’ll try every so often to play with EAC, and it still crashes very quickly.
Had anyone else figured out a solution? I have tried reinstalling EAC, verifying installation, and launching the game different ways with no avail.

Yes I have also narrowed down EAC. I tried playing Squad, which uses EAC, and it also causes pc to reboot. I submitted a support ticket to EAC I’ll get back to you if I learn anything useful.
