Starting Halo 5 MP - advice on REQs at start

Hello All!
I finally discovered the joy of online gaming yesterday. Warzone Firefight is really amazing and I’m having a lot of fun with it.

My question has to do with REQ packs. The thing I’m most hopeful for when opening a REQ pack is the armor customization pieces. Yesterday I was saving up REQ points and buying the Gold packs when I’d get enough. I know thanks to random chance that I’m not going to get armor all that often, but I’m curious as to the general consensus on how to get req packs.

Greatest Hits - 100,000 REQ points (10 Gold)
Gold - 10,000 REQ (2 Silver)
Silver - 5,000 REQ (4 Bronze)
Bronze - 1,250 REQ

What would you advise for me to do? Is it better to save up for a Greatest Hits pack and be guaranteed a certain number of armor? Or is it possible I’d just unlock some bronze level stuff as I’ve only opened a few packs so far? Is it a mixture? Or will randomness of REQ just wreck me no matter what I pick?

Bronze, Silver, Gold. Work through them until you stop unlocking permanent stuff in each tier.

Yeah, this is how you’re supposed to do it. Though my personal advice is to skip bronze packs and start with silvers, because then you won’t have mongoose certifications. Basically, you’re wasting RP if you open gold packs before you have every permanent unlock you can get from silver packs, because you there’s a high chance you’ll get those ones from gold packs too, even though they cost twice as much.

And I’m happy to hear you enjoy Warzone Firefight! Just make sure to keep any and all scout hogs you get. And don’t call in power weapons in that mode.

That makes sense, thanks guys. Should I hold off on the greatest hits packs until I have all of the silver packs? Or is the greatest hits pack basically not worth it at any point?

Well if you got 100k to spend and want some Legendary REQs off the bat feel free

Otherwise, no

Honestly, I would skip the Bronze packs (it’s what I did), since they’re not guaranteed to give you a permanent unlock, while silver packs give you two. What I did (and I unlocked all of the REQs by level 113) was buy silver packs until I’ve finished all common, uncommon and rare REQs (though the Mongooses can only be unlocked through Bronze, so I don’t have those), and then go on to Gold packs. I’ve seen some people be stuck on Bronze packs until level 60, 70 and even past 80. While going with just silver, you can start gold packs by levels 80-90.

I’d advise you spend it on the silvers. waste of points otherwise. The RGN isnt that kind

I wouldn’t buy it. You only get 5 unlocks. If you spent 100k on golds (don’t buy golds yet) you would get 20 unlocks. If you spent 100k on silvers you would get 40 unlocks. Spend points wisely and don’t get tempted by limited time packs or golds and you should be done in no time

Skip bronze. Start with silvers until finished.

Then buy the wz bundle (that is, IF you are looking to spend real money, otherwise skip this step)

Then open golds.

Only open bronze if you play wz and really really really need to refill your common REQ weapons. Like speed boosts, carbines, railguns, and random lvl3 cards.

It’s not worth any thing for you really. it would be a waste of points. if you want to unlock everything the fastest way and cheapest (req points wise) start with bronze packs when you start not getting unlocks to often get silver packs. you will know when you have unlocked everything at the silver pack level when they refund two 1500 point req cards instead of unlocks. Then go to golds. they will refund two 3000 point req cards when you are done with them. there is nothing in that greatest hits pack that you won’t unlock eventually just going through the pack grind. also if you are going to buy packs with money it is best to wait till you are at least done with the silver pack grind then you will always get higher level stuff for your money. also always always use you req point boost and jackpots to help earn points also it’s best to sell back a lot of the low level weapons like bolt shots and suppressors as you can usually just pick weapons like that up from dead enemy AIs

Start with silvers, once you get majority/all Common/Uncommon/Rare unlocks, move up to gold.
