Starting a stats website for Halo 4

Hey there, in the coming months I plan to bring a statistics website out of development in anticipation of the release of Halo 4. I want to provide everyone with in-depth stats for both Halo: Reach and Halo 4. I am wondering though, what statistics would you guys like to see? What sort of features? Basically, what would make you keep coming back to the site? I want this to be fun as well as useful! All good ideas will be considered, so don’t hold back people!

The amount of times you’ve betrayed and been betrayed.

Number of Yoinks, and numbers of each type of assassination.

> The amount of times you’ve betrayed and been betrayed.

Definetly this.

i respect what your doing but imo waypoint covers just about everything
a crouching on someones face statistic would be nice

Keep in mind guys, I’m limited to the stats 343i provides, but I would be able to combine them, etc. So bagging stats are a no, but betrayals yes (probably).

Wait, why make a stat page if 343 already gives you them?

Detailed stats for each playlist and a drop-down checkbox to include whatever playlists you want to be totaled together. Example, if they have Living Dead stats mixed in like in Reach, you can simply uncheck that box to see stats for all else…

Hello dear sir. Have you ever heard of Halotracker?

this is what i was wondering but aze kings got a good idea but also the stats page may get an update when 4 drops

Being an MVP

I haven’t heard any confirmation or details about a Halo 4 API yet?

How do you plan to get the statistics for Halo 4 games and players?

> Hello dear sir. Have you ever heard of Halotracker?

I’m a frequenter and a friend of the creator, but being a programmer and designer I have the ambition to create my own. Rest assured my site will be very different, and very alike. HaloTracker needs some competition and from what I can tell I’m the only capable of providing at this point what with everyone else complaining about a lack of an API.

A lot of the stats 343i provides are great, but they also leave a lot to be desired for a fair amount of users; that’s where my site comes in.

Ok… So you figure that the amount of stats that 343i is providing right now is the set amount they’re ever going to provide, and that if the community asks nicely they most likely wont improve?

If there are stats that 343i leaves out, instead of creating your own site to host stats so we have tons of different sites to go to, to even see our full stats, why not we just say “Hey, 343i, we want you to show more of these stats, your stat’s are lacking some things, it’d be nice if you added some more”?

Halotracker already provides a good portion of our stats, Betrayls, rage quits, average kill distance, player you killed the most, player you played with the most etc

Anything that can be done with the API.

Yes, you’re right. We should discourage Halo community websites; and we can simply ask 343 to do whatever we want.

> Yes, you’re right.

Yes, I am right.

> We should discourage Halo community websites;

If a Halo community websites wants to put stats on their site because they want one click stats right there for their members, that’s fine. But if they’re creating websites like you because 343i’s stats are missing stats, that’s not helping 343i improve their stats.
And by creating stat sites for the reason you’re creating your stat site, it’s discouraging the community members from telling 343i what they think they should add to their stats to improve to their stats.

I’m all for sub community sites having their own stats for Halo 4, but that’s because they’re already their, and they have a different reason for having stats than “343i displays these stats, but we display the rest of the stats”, which I feel is the wrong reason to be creating a stat page.
