starting a new game already in progress

Does anyone know what the deal is with jumping into a new game only to be surprised that it’s already been in a motion for awhile and you are waiting to re-spawn like you just got killed?

This happened recently in a Warzone match, where I started the game and our team already had around 200 points and the other team had around 300 points. What gives?

I’m guessing maybe someone else quit and I was thrown into that game to even the odds but I find it jarring and a bit unfair.

Thoughts?

It’s just JIP (Join In Progress). It puts you into an ongoing game when a douchbag bails on a game. It can be kind of annoying but fun sometimes. Except when you JIP and you are down 800 to 200…

This has happened way too many times for me. It’s very frustrating to join a losing game. Especially when by the end of the match, I’m on top with the most points.

That’s happened to me half a dozen times. Everytime I’m thrown in I’m on a team losing by at least 200-300 points and the winning team is barely half way to victory. Guessing players quit so they don’t have to lose. I have quit one game within the first couple minutes, but I had an emergency and had to leave in general.

Have seriously never heard of JIP (Join In Progress)? Wow. That’s surprising.

when this hapends to me the team i “spawn” into is often around 400 points after the winning team

This is why you want to play with a team. If you don’t have that many friends start by playing by yourself. if your team wins and people did particularly good invite them and play together. maybe even add them as friends. Eventually your friends list will grow big enough that you can go on warzone with a fire team of 12. I never go into any playlist without a full team.

Also join a a spartan company of like minded players. Here is mine: SPAWN KILL REPEAT
party up gaming sucks!

JIP does not bother me, I have pulled out a win here and there, and I always see it as a challenge to be put on a team that is having difficulty. As if the Warzone gods say, Matador go down and help those…

I dont mind it every now and then. I think its a good idea, but it sucks when it happens multiple times in a row.

I had a JIP a while back, and when I left the match just because I didn’t like the idea of being placed in the middle of the game, it gave me a DNF.

haha funny that you would bring up PartyUpGaming if that was indeed what you were referring to the spartan company, seriously though that was such a random thread to throw that out at lol
everytime ive faced your company we’ve won
guess some people are just salty after they take a Lose perhaps you were in the match just this week we beat your team.
anyways best of luck healing up those salty wounds

just in case you needed a reminder, i wasn’t in this one but anyway:

I do find it quite annoying but if your onnthe winning team you should feel great hhaha but either way it does annoy me but not that much winning or losing I don’t care I’m in m it for the fun

It’s happened a few times to me, but it happens way less in Halo 5 than it did in 4. Mostly because there’s only a few playlists they allow join in progress I imagine.
It does suck being put on a losing team, but frankly that’s going to be the usual case with a JIP. JIP can only happen if someone quit, and quitters tend to be on the losing team. Obviously not always the case, because there are many reasons people quit, but by and large the most common reason is that they’re losing or doing poorly.
I actually really like JIP for a game like Warzone. I really don’t care about winning or losing in that game I just want to join the mayhem, and JIP allows me to find a game much faster
