standbying in halo reach?

just had a game where i was stuck at the score screen of 0-0 for around 30 seconds… then some1 on my team had 7 kills and the other team had 3… 2 people on the other team quit and finally i was given access to the game… the game progressed with a lot of lag… the only person with green bar was the person on my team who had 7 kills before i was able to even start playing…so… i was wondering if this may be a form of standbying or if it is just a case of bad lag?

Sounds like bad internet to me.

It happens when there’s a bad connections/bad host.

In the MLG playlist, it happened to a me and a friend. All of sudden the game stops and reverts to a black screen. After that, my friend, another team mate quit, while the other teams two players quit (making it 2 v 2).

The strangest thing was that the players that “quit” (including my friend) were still playing their own separate match instead of going back to lobby. For the rest of us, the lag was HORRIBLE. Looked really suspicious to me since it never happened to us outside of MLG.

So essence, the game split into two separate games of MLG team doubles >.>

Just bad connection, almost nobody bothers standbying in Reach. There’s no penalty for losing, no global rank and very little competition with the lack of trueskill filtering.

This, 90% of the accusations of getting “Stand byed” or “modded” or “host booted” in Reach, that aren’t in single digit Onyx, are false diagnoses of the situation.

I’ve played at least 10,000 games of matchmaking since H2, and I can’t recall legit “cheat” happening even 5 times.
