Actually, they probably mean 2MB, not 2Mb. I myself have seen 4G Verizon Wireless devices that are faster than Time Warner Cable, so it’s totally possible. Would I play Halo on a Wireless connection? Hell no- but that’s MY preference. As a matter of fact, I won’t play any video games on any platform wirelessly, unless that’s the only way to do so. Anywho, if they have a rock-solid Wifi connection to their phone/hotspot, then there’s no reason not to use it.
Anywho, as for “getting 'standby-ed,” yes, I have had it happen in Halo 4, but only once, about 3 weeks after it came out. It was on Adrift, and we were getting close to the end of the game, and were up by 4 or 5 kills- I forget. All of a sudden, it goes to the “selecting new host” screen, and every once in a while, the screen would flash and the scores would change. When we regained control of our Spartans, we were down by 6 kills, and ended up losing the game shortly thereafter. Awesome.
Stuff like this is equivalent to rage quitting in my opinion, and that used to really irritate the -Yoink- out of me- especially in Online Ranked Matches on various fighting games. But, I eventually just stopped caring altogether- I figure that, if someone has to cheat or abuse an exploit to win, or they decide to quit early because they’re getting destroyed, then I already won long before the game was over. They might be at home laughing that they screwed me over, but I could care less; I know who really won. Besides, no one gives a flying -Yoink- what your Online Stats are- go to events/tournaments and make a name for yourself. If you can’t do it in person while under pressure, then you really are as insignificant as your padded stats.
The thing I DON’T understand, are the people who cheat ALL the time. Does it make them feel better about the fact that they suck? Do they enjoy -Yoink!- people off for no reason at all? And is their e-peen REALLY that important to them? Are they afraid of not being accepted? Or did they grow up getting bullied by the “cool kids,” and so they assume that’s what they have to do to be cool? I just don’t get it. There is practically NOTHING to gain by being an “Innarwebz Tough Guy” / “Griefer.”
They should know by now that cheating is so highly expected that even the pros that ARE amazing at various video games are called out as possible frauds. Hell, I get told I’m cheating every once in a while, and I don’t consider myself great by ANY means. Then, there’s the various people who have raged after losing to me fighting game, and typically their complaint would show that either A. They truly don’t understand the game, or B. The thing they are complaining about is just common sense (which also reinforces A.) For example (for people who play / have played ANY Street Fighter since SF2): on multiple occasions, after beating some Zangief players in various iterations of SF, they’d send me a message telling me that I was “turtling” the whole match. Oh, I’m sorry, you’re absolutely right- the proper way to play against him is to rush him down and stay right on top of him the whole match. What was I thinking? /facedesk
Well, I’ve already written WAY more than I expected to during my “breaks” over the last few hours, so I’ll just repeat this one thing: if someone has to cheat, grief, abuse an exploit, rage quit, call you names, etc. while playing a game, it’s almost always out of jealousy and/or being salty. Pass the Morton’s.
