As one man’s opinion: Stalker Rifles on the Tactical playlist is really annoying. Can’t we stick to the old SWAT formula please?
As always my one suggestion is this:
ANYTHING that is just X original game mode but with different weapons belong in Action Sack. Niche modes which no one enjoys playing should be Action Sack playlist and only come out during weekly rotationals as a standalone playlist.
stalkers are the worst of the worst.
i also dont see why we dont have a secondary weapon in any of these. im pretty sure there were secondary magnums in other halos. the reasoning for removing these makes as much sence as the rest of this game.
Diet team snipers*
Remove the shock riffle from swat too
The mangler pistol is on thin ice aswell
I second this. Stalker falls more to snipers, perhaps…
It has a secondary zoom. It’s a sniper for sure.
I like it, but I like the stalker rifle in general
Same with the commando, I don’t mind swat with it
The Stalker is a marksman rifle in the vein of the DMR and especially the Light Rifle. Both of which would normally be considered acceptable for SWAT.
Having a second zoom doesn’t automatically mean it’s a sniper, especially since most players wouldn’t use more than the lowest zoom level in a gametype like SWAT anyway, it’s too slow and cumbersome.
Heck if anything I like Stalker SWAT more than BR SWAT because it’s not as easy to use, so the fights tend to be more interesting. Same goes for the Commando. Most players are just not as good at landing a quick headshot with these weapons. In BRs far more fights end in one shot. I don’t find that very engaging.
Naw, stalker rifle is the purest swat mode. If someone kills me with a stalker in swat, I know it is because they have good aim, not that they just happened to see me first and had a gun in their hand with three round burst and the highest aim assist in the game.
Stalker is bad, the damn sidekick is worse, and I don’t even understand that mangler thing being there. We need the BR’s WAY more. I played the other night and probably got the BR one freakin time out of 20+ games. That’s insane and stupid. You wanna give us variants, give us different Halo series Br’s like in 5.
Sod that, I love Mangler Tactical more than any other tactical mode. I don’t want to chance playing VAMPIRE BALL when I want to play Mangler Tactical.
I like it because, unlike sidekick tactical, people can’t spam the trigger 100 miles an hour like crack addicts. You can still be a nerd and go for easy body shots and melees, but it rewards good aim and reload management.
Them Overkills feel real good. It feels earned
I feel like a Doisac Desperado with my big -Yoink!- wheelgun in that mode, it’s great. There’s three different ways to die - headshot, two shot body, melee. Only one isn’t instant death, but every single approach is a threat. Getting those LOOOOOOONG shots with the Mangler…? Ooh… Greater mark of skill than in any other tactical mode.
Imagine if we could dual wield
Alexa, play Big Iron by Marty Robbins
Actually no, there’s a sick “For a Few Dollars More” synth cover on YouTube I just found. Slap that on repeat and give me a mangler playlist
I seem to hit about 1 in every 1000 attempts ![]()
Haha, Gods, imagine?
Once we get ornaments and such for Banished weapons, you can bet your -Yoink!- I’ll be buying a long barrel for the Mangler. It lacks that vibe severely.
You’ll get there.
Stalker Tactical is a bit annoying. I think SWAT works best when it sticks to regular ballistic gameplay, IE bullets and not plasma or whatever sci-fi else.
I honestly cannot wait until Swagnums (SWAT Magnums) gets implemented.
Basically SWAT but pistols only. So once the Magnum is added back in the game, it would be SWAT with the Sidekick and Magnum. Sure to be interesting.
The Stalker functions more like a bullet than plasma in every single way.
The projectile speed is faster than the CE Magnum, and is nearly on-par with the Halo 3 Sniper (Which took 2 frames at 30fps to cross the longest functional sightline on Sandtrap).
And while it does deal more damage to shields than it does to health (on a body shot) it’s an extremely small difference, and a Headshot totally negates the difference.
The only thing that makes it somewhat of a Plasma weapon is heat buildup, but unlike most Plasma weapons it’s heat meter doesn’t go down over time and only goes down when it overheats or is manually vented, so it functions more like an 8 shot magazine than an actual plasma weapon in that way too. Now that you can pick up additional battery for Plasma weapons, it also doesn’t have the “disposable weapon” thing that was traditional of Plasma weapons in the past.
So that means the only thing functionally in the entire game that actually makes it a Plasma weapon, is which ammo crates fill it up in Campaign.
Still waiting for them to split tactical into BR swat and ‘variety swat’ playlists. Makes the most sense. Sometimes I wanna shoot people with manglers and go the russian roulette route with the weapons. Sometimes I just wanna enjoy breakfast in between rounds of thoughtful BR swat matches. I know some people just hate the other weapons and that’s fine! No one should have to be forced to play modes they don’t want just for a chance to get the ones they do. It’s nonsense.
Also. Stalker rifles ARE annoying and half the time if I get these matches with friends we either get mostly melee kills or we give up when we’re being stomped and -Yoink!- around until time runs out. /shrug
You’re one of the minority here and we shouldn’t have a playlist lingering which caters to a minority. That’s kinda the entire problem with AAA gaming these days isn’t it? They keep catering to a minority (Esports and Pros) which drives all the casual audience away.
If you really want to play Mangler Tactical, host a customs and invite people who have the same desire to play with you, not drag everyone in to suffer for 10minutes with you.
