Stalker rifle undervalued

On close range u will win a fight by breaking shield faster and melee…
On long range it has a pretty good fire rate and damage…
It ain’t heating quickly and cooling process in a sec…
Best use with br on medium range to finish enemy quickly…

That’s all assuming shots register and bloom doesn’t cause your shots to fly all over the place.

Stalker rifle has crazy potential, unfortunately I have mediocre aim, so i struggle with it.

Hah same. I wish I were good with this thing. Has a very cool Marksman vibe and I am definitely not one of those.

Stalker best use is centering crosshair to head while strafing/shooting… more players r strafing, less players crouching and jumping… that’s some how an advantage

Only problem with the stalker is at range when you’re needing to lead your shots.

Part of the reason why I am still confused as to it’s inclusion within the snipers playlist…

It’s extremely powerful if you get the hang of it. You can watch any pro tournament gameplay and see how big of an impact it makes.

It’s not a sniper though, and shouldn’t be in sniper class spawn points or game modes. It’s essentially just a light rifle with projectile physics.

It is still an anti-aim weapon against sniper and rifleshock which abuse their aiming while being shot :mechanical_arm: thanks to rate of fire + strafing ofc

There is no bloom on the Stalker Rifle. At all.

My biggest issue with the gun is I hate the reticle. It’s a terrible reticle for precision ranged combat

Any other gun with same rectile won’t hit what stalker rifle hit… it has to be a bloom because its not a bullet, its a plasma

The Stalker is one of the best weapons in the game. So long as you can control it, it is a flat upgrade to the BR.

Not a new archetype to Halo, but a solid one. The Focus Rifle in Reach and the Light Rifle in Halo 5 were like that. Like a mid-tier Utility weapon that’s was best-in-class, while other utility options like the Needle Rifle in Reach, or the BR, DMR, and Carbine in 5 were more like different flavours of utility weapons compared to the spawn one. You can think of the Commando like this too, it’s not really an upgrade over the BR but serves a similar purpose in a different flavour.

I also really feel the Stalker is one of the few guns in the game where the really tiny radius of aim assist actually feels good in practice (Shock Rifle is another). On a lot of other guns it feels aweful especially the Commando.

Oh I see what you mean. It’s not bloom, it’s just got projectile physics, meaning it’s got a slightly slower moving projectile than the kinetic weapons. That’s why you have to lead your shots at longer ranges. As far as accuracy is the shot goes exactly where you’re aiming so it’s not bloom.

I don’t think it has cone of randomness either, it just feels like it sometimes because of desync. It’s definitely a weapon that suffers in a laggy game.

Stalker suffers from inconsistency, usually a product of desync + projectile based weapon.

The only guns worth a damn with Infinite’s crappy hit reg is hitscan, homing or explosive weapons.

Two shot body shot is extremely efficient for me with a BR swap headshot to finish them off. Kaaaaa Powwwwww!!

You have to lead your shot. It’s not bloom, your aim just isn’t on point with shot lead.

Sometimes you have good takes. This is not one.
You need to practice.

Might as well remove homing from the equation. The only one that’s actually consistent is the Hydra and that’s just because it’s explosive. The Needler works alright most of the time, but still has a habit of showing way more shards hitting than actually hit. The rate of fire, very low hits-to-kill and generous magazine keep it relevant in spite of it’s mediocre consistency, the Plasma Pistol consistency is about 50/50 with shots that look like they connected, and the Pulse Carbine is a phantom hitmarker generator.

The Stalker Rifle I find far more consistent than any of these weapons. But it’s projectile being very, very fast definitely helps with that, the projectile is even noticeably faster than the CE Magnum so shot leading only really matters at extreme (even for BTB) distances. It feels about on-par for consistency with the slower projectiles from the Skewer, where I can usually blame “misses” on my own aim.

No it’s just true. You can’t lead desync. It’s just not possible.

Cope. Honestly, just, straight up cope.

If you really think the stalker rifle is unusable, it isn’t a Desync problem it REALLY is a you problem. Try it in campaign. If you can’t land your shots, it’s a you problem.

While you are certainly right, you can’t lead desync, I think players often lay blame at its feet when they simply got outplayed. I find myself getting frustrated with “desync” when I miss shots or lose a fight when I engage while at a shield disadvantage.
Desync is a real issue and is massively frustrating, but it isn’t happening every time players pull the trigger.
