Today I reached Rank 50 and just now downloaded the email that 343i sent out to players that played Halo 4 before nov 20. Should I be expecting the ability to rank up further or is SR50 the max for me? I have purchase the standard edition of Halo 4.

You could have gotten to 70 without any code.
go to the customization menu and go up to were you can see challenges and commendations. you should see something called specializations pick one and enjoy.

Oh I see. Weird it has capped off at 50 and it hasn’t let me level up today. Thanks for helping guys 
If someone doesn’t know about specializations i feel like they havn’t been paying attention at all.

Your right I HAVE hardly been paying attention. I’ve been playing halo just to kill people and to have fun. I’ve been doing that since CE. This whole Specialization thingy has never been incorporated into any halo game before. I go to this forum to learn more about it

“Spartan-IV” is classed as a Spec rank which means the max level for the “Spartan-IV” spec is level 50 it wont let you gain any more experience until you select your next specialization it tells you to select ur next one to continue ranking up push the start button to go career and select specializations then pick your next spec from there
the next spec has 10 ranks when you hit level 60 it will ask you to pick a new spec and will do so every 10 ranks until you hit rank 130
Alright, if I pick a spec and hate it could I choose a different one? Am I stuck with the one spec until I hit SR60?
stuck. Be sure to always choose a new specialization at every interval of 10 after 50 or else you won’t get any exp. Ever. So at SR50, choose, SR60, choose, SR70, choose (if you can), and so on and so forth.
If you are at a Specialization cap you no longer earn ANY experience.
