Im posting on here so that this won’t get drowned out by Halo Infinite stuff this week, and to warn those who are grinding H5 still. The Watchdog armor coating looks SO muted and not glossy/shiny in comparison to the high res photos that were teased before launch. It just blends in with every other spartan in game, and looks like dirt. Yeah, the weapon coatings are more 1:1 but man, for them not to get this one right really puts insult to injury to those who were originally disappointed by lack of reward in H5. 343 needs to update it to make it look like the photos. This is a slap in the face to those who spent literal days upon days of game time into H5. Crazy

I think I’ve only seen one other thread about this, but yeah bro i hope they actually do something about it. I really hope more people speak up about this.

I agree, the original hi res photos are very different from actually what it is, it is very meh and dull like all the other skins. I put mine on as I refuse to pay $$ and then grind challenges for more blah looking cosmetics…

yes if you played specifically to get that instead of enjoy the game making that reward an extra
at least you got your coatings they still haven’t unlocked for me

To top it off - have a look at the BR coating and compare it to the HCS Winter BR coating.

Im honestly suprised that ppl thought that 343i would give a reward worth the grind. We can’t even get dedicated playlists for gametypes or map voting which has been in Halo since what H3. Whoever is calling the shots isnt as competent as some give 343 credit for.
So glad that I didn’t grind away to get it lol
They definitely need to update the watchdog armor, I agree it looked so clean when it was first shown to us but in game you can barely tell it apart from other generic coatings, 343 please update it if your reading this make it look shiny or more metallic, something.

Completely agree. I put a lot of time into earning 152 and it was very tiring so the least they can do is fix the coating since it looks bad and bland compared to the other armours skins. It’s almost feels like not getting it at all since it looks nothing like what was showed to us.
Maybe the real reward was the friends you made along the way to SR152…
But yeah, that definitely sucks to hear. The glossy photos they posted last year looked absolutely gorgeous.
Yes, you can still unlock the armor, but you’ll have to wait a day or two after finishing the grind to receive it.

That would be annoying. I played over 3 years on 5 and still I’m only at 148 ( very busy with other things in life ). To grind out to 152 is one huge commitment.
