Tonight I finally achieved my goal of obtaining SR 152 in Halo 5. I thought Halo: Reach’s Inheritor was gruesome when it came to the grind, but 152 is on a whole different level.
I salute all the other 152’s out there for your dedication because this is easily the longest grind I’ve ever had to do to obtain max rank in a Halo game. For those of you who are trying to obtain 152, keep grinding! Trust me, you’ll get there eventually and Halo Infinite doesn’t even have a release date so there is still plenty of time.
Just to give you all an idea of what it took for me to get to 152, I played 7,383 multiplayer games (2,600 in Arena and 4,783 in Warzone) for a total of 53 days, 2 hours, 15 minutes, and 13 seconds which got me 364 XP over 50,000,000 XP total (credit goes to Halotracker). I am also one of the first 500 players to obtain SR 152 (#479 according to Halotracker).
All for an emblem…lol. Although it is a very cool emblem, I hope that we get rewarded with some kind of helmet or armor in Halo Infinite for obtaining 152. I mean, the pack is called the Inheritor pack so there should have been something like the Haunted Helmet with it. Either way, I had a ton of fun playing Halo 5 for all these years or else I wouldn’t have made it to this point. Perhaps I’ll come back occasionally to fill my Halo desires while I wait for Infinite, but until then, I’m going to be taking a break for a while. Rides off into the sunset

That’s insane! Congratulations. Don’t think I will ever have the time to reach max rank, even though I love the game. Cheers to everyone out there still grinding. I am glad they are still managing some playlist refreshes.

I didn’t even realize I had that much of a presence in Infection lol. I appreciate the compliment!

I kind of blasted through every rank up until 149 and then took a long break because of the changes made to Warzone regarding teams. When I came back and ranked up to 150, that’s when the real grind started.
Just to to give you an idea, 1,000,000 XP into SR 150 is only halfway to SR 152 which is kind of hard to believe, but I can confirm that it is true. It took me 7 months to get from 151 to 152 (although I did take a one month break in there) so from the time I obtained 150 to the time I obtained 152, it probably took me at least a year (probably closer to a year and a half). And this was trying to get as much XP as I possibly could each day that I could play.
So unfortunately it seems like it will take a fair amount of time for you to reach 152, but it definitely isn’t impossoble if you are able to push hard for it.

Yes, Spartan Rank will show everyone at number one. However, if you choose the XP list, it will show everyone in order based on the amount of XP they obtained. That is how I figured it out.

I always have been good at remembering people’s gamertag, and I’m a dedicated infection player so I’ve pretty much played every other great infection player at least once lol! I’m starting the grind, but I’m just trying to beat Infinite. Congrats again on getting 152!

Thank you! Looking back at it, I have to agree. It really was an insane journey and I’m kind of surprised I made it, but it is such a sigh of relief to finally be done.

Is it really that much harder than reach? I came closeish in reach and felt the grind burn in epic ways haven’t felt much with Halo 5 and I’m like 147 RN.

I know exactly what you mean too. I was originally just planning on hitting 150 and calling it good, but I kept going and well, here I am. Do you plan on going all the way to 152 now that you are at 151?

Only 9,264,127 XP left for me to reach SR 152. Good thing tomorrow I have time to decrease that number! And congratulations to you!

Coming from an Inheritor, it is much more difficult to obtain 152. Inheritor takes 20,000,000 XP whereas 152 takes 50,000,000 XP (or 2.5 times the amount of XP it takes to reach Inheritor). I played 7,126 games in Halo: Reach and that was far after I obtained Inheritor. Even though Reach didn’t have XP boosts and Halo 5 did, it took me 7,383 games minimum to reach 152 which is 257 games more than my entire career in Halo: Reach.
Believe me, the first 147 ranks go by quickly, but then when you hit 148 and 149 things will slow down a little bit and then when you hit 150, that’s when you realize where the grind is really at.
