sr 130 loss of incentive to play

am i the only one who feels this way i hit sr130 within 3 months of the game coming out and now its gotten to the point where i dont want to play because im getting nothing out of it i mean all those daily challenges i complete are for nothing i dont even bother with the laso challenges because its a waste of time now… i feel like 343 should ether extend the sr cap or give us the option to reset our sr rank…just the rank tho leave every thing else i just want to feel like im doing thing with a purpose

am i really the only one who has an opinion about this…i would love to hear from others maybe im wrong for feeling this way

I remember a day when people used to play video games for fun and not worry about a number that meant nothing…

beat me to it.

if you like halo, that in itself is incentive to play.

never understood why you need to play for a higher number, especially in the way the ranking is set up in this game and reach.

what would you have done in the old school days of super mario 3? lol

You care for a rank that means nothing?

Only reason I played and got to 130 is because it gave me armour as I love customization. Now I’m trying to get some of the others through commendations.

I hit 130 super fast been playing since day 1 and still really enjoy Halo 4. It doesn’t bother me at all that I’m maxed. Don’t know why some people care that much about it because all it gets me is trash talk messages and being called a -Yoink- like 40% of the time.

Master prestige on super mario

I think it gives the player a reason to play but what ever…

Sure the rank thing is ok, but honestly the way halo 3s ranking was set up, that would last for years.
An even bigger thing is you should just enjoy the game for what it is, not for some rank or number. Honestly it means nothing, and you’ll be told up and down this if you even think about posting this kid of stuff up here on the forums.

You need to get rid of that mentality of “numbers mean something” out of your head. Just enjoy the game, switch it up, play other games for a bit, try to set goals for yourself, get achievements, join a clan so you always have friends to play with.
If you’re playing halo solely for some rank, friend you are playing games for the wrong reason.

I don’t get why people feel this way, you don’t need to “get” anything out of playing a game. I swear adding ranks and achievements to games was a horrible idea. Enjoying it is supposed to be the reward, back when I played the original Mario Brothers I didn’t beat the game 50+ times because I was being rewarded to do so. Games are supposed to be fun, if the game is no longer fun to you find another game. I have been at 130 probably as long as you have, and I still play because the game is fun. There is no other reason to play video games in my opinion.

I play Halo for it’s lore and I play it for fun (Halo 4 may be lacking in this)

So I really could care less about the SR ranks going too quickly, and we also have CSR and Commendations to work for also.

Try to get CSR 50 in some playlists.

I have been at 130 for a while. Not gaining XP or shinny armor to play Spartan Dress Up doesn’t bother me one bit. If I want pointless progression I’ll put in CoD.

SR doesn’t mean anything anyway.

You still have things to earn and unlock. Work on your Commendations. I just recently earned Slayer Mastery and Forerunner Ordnance Mastery, earning my Gungnir armor and Believe stance (pictured left). Right now, I’m working on the Global Championship and AR Mastery.

It has nothing to do with “nothing more to work for.” If you’ve lost interest in the multiplayer of a multiplayer-centric (arguably) game like Halo 4, it’s not because you’ve “maxed”; it’s because you just don’t like the game that much.

Eh, I agree. Being super competitive and trying to get to a 50 in any playlists doesn’t interest me at all. But if there was an increase in the rank cap (even if it means nothing), then I’d start playing a lot more.

You guys say it means nothing, so it shouldn’t affect you at all, right? So don’t bother trying to rank up then, just play like you always would.

Some people like playing to rank up.

That’s pointless. Besides, CSR is broken anyway.

You can always go back and get your inheritor on Reach.

Just because you don’t understand how a mechanic works doesn’t mean it’s broken.

Go and play some big team objective with the suppressor, after a while, you’ll uncover it’s secrets…
