So I bought the halo 4 limited edition xbox console bundle at launch, currently SR 126 with 7 days and 16 hours played, and the triggers on one of the controllers that came with the bundle is already squeeking.
It still works n all, it just squeeks alot.
Is it defective? Is there a way to fix it? Any information helps.
Its just a beautiful controller. I’d hate for it to get worse.
I’m not really sure if there’s lubricant in there, but if there is it might have dried out or gotten used up. I imagine they use metal springs to press the trigger back, haven’t opened them up to check.
Could also be that the spring have loosened up and is grinding againt the plastic.
I don’t recommend opening it up though, unless you’re confident in what you’re doing.
Could be defective, none of my 5 year controllers are still silent.
So none of my controllers are perfect, and usually the squeak comes and goes… As far as opening it, unless you’re sure what you’re doing and you don’t mind voiding any warranty if any it has, then you should just turn the TV volume up 
All my controllers squeak to an extent.
