Sprinting Holograms & a better Thruster Pack?

Hello,

I just wanted to post two suggestions pertaining to armor abilities for the next title update, whenever that will be.

  1. It would be awesome if deploying a Hologram while sprinting would make the hologram sprint to its waypoint as well. I think it would just give users of this armor ability another means of switching it up and making the illusion a little more authentic in some situations.

  2. I’m sure its been voiced before, but the Thruster Pack seems woefully underpowered to me. If you’re racing neck-and-neck with another player at full sprint and thrust while they are still sprinting, you’ll end up trailing behind them. Pretty lousy for something that’s supposed to give you a cozy boost. Even without the camera pullback effect to throw off your sense of distance, the ground covered by this ability is nothing. More often than not from my experience it just ends up disorienting and getting its own users killed in a skirmish, rather than actually affording them a fair enough distance to escape. I’m not recommending this armor ability be tweaked to Flood gametype levels of friction & gravity for general matchmaking, but I think a comfortable medium somewhere between that and its current implementation would be much better.

What does anyone else think? Thanks!

  2. You are making the assumption that the Thruster Pack is meant to give a boost of speed forward. The way that the developers saw us using the armor ability was evasion. When you are directly on a grenade and want to get away faster you can jump and thruster pack to the side to get away from the blast radius faster than you could by just jumping.

Oh, I know its for evasion and not necessarily speeding forward. Its contextual with the direction the user is moving. I think the distance is just measly, though. The full second or so during which its deployed is just time in which the player who uses it soaks up AR bullets and basically covers the same ground they could have while leaping somewhere and firing back simultaneously. I just think it ought to have a little more push behind it to actually warrant it using up a loadout slot over the other armor abilities is all.

A jump at the moment you activate thruster pack makes it much more effective. Also, thruster pack with speed boost is almost as crazy as a thruster flood. Id like 2 uses per charge but more power would make a ninja impractical.

The Thruster Pack could have a bit more range, and Sprinting Holograms would be really cool! I like the idea!

Also, I really do like bacon! I’m surprised more people haven’t voted for that.

Honestly thruster pack is fine when you use it right, what irks me is that it is so hard to use since it moves you to third-person. What exactly is the point of zooming out to third person for a split second? It’d be easier to use if it didn’t.

It would be even more authentic if the hologram would shoot every time the sender did. of course these bullets would be harmless. That would gather the attention of many players.

The only compliant about the thrust pack is that you are ripped into third person for no reason. It should always remain first person similar to how sprinting and jet packing works.

Thruster Pack is fine as it is. It’s basically the escape button, so… I don’t care for a buff.

I think that might be the point… if it were easier to use it would be far too obvious a choice.

It’s to make lag. If they dont make enough lag in the game people will realize we don’t actually need more powerful consoles and the system market would crash. Babies wouldn’t get born, love would die, bananas would stop being perfect, nanas would stop being old, swimsuit models would give it up for free, people would be nice to each other(nice to each other!), families would stay together, we could all talk comfortably and confidently to one another, we would gain morals, gain morale and understand why money is the root of all evil, we would wave to each other, smile at each other because we feel like it, and people would be happy.

And that’s not allowed

ive read some ridiculous things on these forums, but this takes the cake! i know bacon is OP and everything but come on.
