Sprinting, ADS and why they need to stay

It’s no secret that some people aren’t happy about the new movement/ADS in Halo 5, but if we’re being honest here, they kind of need to stay.
First off, I’d like to point out that pretty much every single other first person shooter out there has ADS and sprint in it, not having it is basically like asking anyone new to the series “Hey can you please not pay money for this game?” Now I know many of you will derive pleasure from the idea of no new people to the series so you can keep the “old halo community” pure or something but 343 can’t make any money if people don’t buy the game can they?
Second, I’d like to mention that sprint makes getting places easier. Prior to sprint players used to resort to ridiculous tactics (constant jumping and grenade jumping for example) sprinting is a much safer option and (at least for me) appeases my brain, giving me the idea that there’s very little I can do to get anywhere faster. I feel less like I’m fighting the controls to get places and more like I’m simply not capable of getting to something in time to save the day sometimes, because I have basically every balanced form of mobility out there, and I still couldn’t make it. Honestly playing the old halo games (of which I grew up with, don’t you “dumb new fans” me) feels like a chore because of the amount of effort I have to waste to get anywhere.
Third I’d like to point out that literally every sequel’s job is to introduce new things, every halo before this has done it, and every halo after has. The constant crap on new things is sill, especially when it feels like the same damn thing over and over. For instance: people complained for eons about armor abilities in Reach, and now the general consensus is Reach was a fantastic game. Nitpicking to get the old thing back is lame and when you’ve been doing the same thing for six years now at least, it’s just downright petty.
Finally I’d like to point out that fun matters more than your opinion on what makes the game more “actually halo” (as if that isn’t an infinite staircase of requirements anyway) and I have fun with Halo 5, mostly because I actually am willing to have fun, and (barring the story) Halo 5 is a really fun game. If you don’t have fun with it, don’t talk about it, and don’t play it, but don’t bring me down with you by complaining about a movement system that’s honestly a really fun system.

Hi I’m The sprint thread please feed me.

I’d like to point out that pretty much every single other first person shooter out there has ADS and sprint in it, not having it is basically like asking anyone new to the series “Hey can you please not pay money for this game?”

What is that logic? Look at doom and overwatch both of them don’t have sprint.

Yep, we have a pretty big sprint thread going on. Let’s try and keep the discussion to that one.
