Sprint Will Never Be Removed

I know most of you saw the title and are now typing hate. Hear me out and think before you say something. I know this will be controversial.
At this point, I have seen many people who still are going forward and telling 343 to remove sprint for Halo 6. I understand if that was your opinion. Sprint in itself is not for everyone.
My overall opinion on sprint does not matter here.
What does matter is that sprint will never be removed at this point in the franchise.
Sprint has been a part of the franchise for 5 years now. It has been in 3 released Halo games at this point in time.
People cried for removal after Reach, after 4, and now after 5. It is so grounded in the franchises DNA at this point that its removal would mess too much with the balance that has been made. Assuming Spartan Abilities, a new addition, carry over into Halo 6 (which they probably will), sprint’s removal would mess too much with the gameplay that is here. You might disagree, but 343 thinks that.
Halo 4 was the last chance to remove it, and now they can’t without doing too much too the franchise.
Sprint in itself is a minor addition, one so small and seemingly innocent that it does not matter if it is there. But when it is there, it affects all gameplay every time you play, and that can’t be disputed, whether if it positively or negatively affects.
343 has chosen for sprint to stay in the franchise, and no matter how much people cry out to them to remove it, it will stay. There’s no use trying to get them to do it anymore, as they’ve decided what they want.
Over time, I have realized the reason people would dislike 343, it’s because 343 is stubborn, in a way.
Stubbornness doesn’t automatically mean rude, but it does mean that a person is very hard to sway from their opinions and their choices. 343 loves some of the things they’ve done to the franchise, and the weapons they have made. They don’t want to ever remove them for anything, because they think that they are great additions, and many people might agree with them. Because of this, they are very hard to sway from something they have already decided. We’ve seen this with sprint.
They know that a lot of people don’t like sprint. They know that a lot of people are sour towards them because of the changes. They’re not blind to that. They just want to keep it in because they believe it to be great. Fan feedback can only go so far, and for something like sprint, it can’t go far enough.
I truly believe that trying to get sprint out the franchise is a futile endeavor now. It is here, and I believe it is here to stay and there’s nothing we can do about it.
If you have an objection to this, please say it respectfully.

Don’t really wanna. People will never stop discussing it so we’re at an impasse.

Dual wielding was in two Halo games.
Armor abilities were in two Halo games.

Sure, two isn’t the same as three, but that’s still pretty shaky ground to be standing on.

Ah, I knew you would reply pretty quickly.
Man, I respect your opinion, I know that you have strong feelings about the way that Halo is heading.
I just hope you know that whatever I think is also because I care about this franchise. I wish that sprint not ever being removed wasn’t the case, but I believe that it is.
That is all…cheers!

We don’t know if it will ever be removed or not.

We do know for sure that it will never be removed if people just give up on the cause entirely. And hell, even if it’s never removed, at least I’ve opened some people’s minds on alternative possibilities and ways of thinking, and that in itself is always worthwhile.

It seems like you’re just trying to discourage people from discussing it altogether.

I agree with that, I think it’s odd that 343 seems to remove or change anything Bungie has done other than sprint. They are stubborn though, it’d be nice if they showed us that they listen to the community more.

They do listen, they just don’t do everything we ask. I could list everything in h4 that was removed and not in h5 and some new additions in h5 that we have asked for. They listen, just not to every single thing we ask of them.

They made sprint work now being that we have to take cover for our shields to recharge. It’s not hard to shoot someone while sprinting, takes time and practice. throughout the games I’ve played, I hardly see people use sprint because they are most likely engaged in combat. Sprint is being used to get to the fight as quickly as possibly. If you get caught you’re screwed because you either got to stop and recharge your shields or possibly die. With it comes an element of surprise which is spartan charge, however if you’re quick enough you can catch him. Pretty easy, a directional charge. Its the same thing as someone walking up to you and meleeing you in the back and go for the assassination if they want to. Its a new tactic that makes the pace go faster, quick kill and keep moving. It is a cheap tactic but isn’t walking up to someone from behind and meleeing a cheap tactic too? Whats worse is when they have a chance to turn around and kill you, its like why go for a back melee. Sprint + spartan charge was to sort of eliminate that, but can be countered with a side thrust. I hate seeing these forum posts, about people saying they like or not. I like sprint, I like people can’t recharge their shields, so if they keep running I’ll eventually get them. I like how I can’t always outrun someone, which means I gotta be careful.

Well, it is actually impossible to shoot someone while sprinting.

So we hardly use sprint, why have it?
And no, map designers decide the time it takes from one location to another. Sprint has little effect on that minimum default time.

I thought it would be obvious that sprint wouldn’t be removed
