Sprint - Why 343 had to keep it!

Tell me an FPS that you can’t sprint in right now? We are a super-soldier, and if we can’t even run from danger or towards it, well, what the hell? Sprint is something people always wanted in halo, and for a FPS of this generation it would be silly not to have it! This is the kind of change people need to embrace, not bloom, sprint, sped up game play. I think 343 felt like they at least needed sprint, not armor lock, but sprint.

We can only hope that it was implemented better than it was in Reach. In Reach it wasn’t so bad it was just the panting that pissed me off lol. I really don’t like the panting, they don’t need that, if anything it makes me feel like a tried 6 year old running after an ice cream truck.

Spartans are fighting agains over Hordes of Enemies,
but cant swim!

I’m not a huge fan of them keeping sprint, but considering default movement is already really fast, hopefully sprint will just be a “Small” burst of speed instead of a colossal one.

I AM however VERY happy to see that there are no Armor Abilities.

Where was it confirmed? People are ranting about it but not posting where they saw sprint.

In the trailer spartans were clearly sprinting.

Sprint didnt speed anything up. It only gave bad players an opportunity to run from their mistakes and survive when they shouldnt have.

TBH, I’m not happy with the inclusion of sprint.

But you know what, so what? It’s not a game ruiner like AAs or bloom. It’s not the end of the world, the game is a huge step up from Reach.

…Yeah I think I’m over the initial shock now lol.

Yes, and I highly doubt they will be able to swim in halo 4 lol. Just a feeling. I agree though, I don’t see why the water must be a boundary.

they stated these encounters are going to be faster.
sprint wasn’t in halo 1 2 because the tech wasnt really there…thats how it started

Ahem
If this is indeed the case, “running away” should become less of a problem.
(I never had a problem with it in the first place. If you’re victim gets away, it’s your fault for not keeping on him.)

sprinting should have been added awhile back as a basic aspect of the game. Your a super spartan and you cant even run fast how stupid is that…

Worst thing is in the book spartan can run fast as hell.

Sprint is clunky in Reach. I would prefer that sprint not be included at ALL in Halo 4, but if it is, I hope they implement it in a way that feels smooth. This whole “it takes an extra second to pull up your gun after sprinting” thing should be left for CoD players. Lets keep the gameplay heated and fast paced!!

do ppl are really complaining about sprint ? do u even have the skills to play this game ?
this is unbelievable .

This. It ruins competitive play and is the reason MLG took it out.

I said before that 343 would include sprint into the new trilogy. It was logical to me, I’m so happy. Now back to my school work. Lol what’s a Spartan that can’t run.

What has sprint got to do with skill? am i skilled by pressing a button to run away from a mistake i made which should of resulted in my death?

I am very concerned about sprint but it does look like base movement speed and jump are good.

In Reach, sprint caused slow movement speed’s, of course we have a right to be concerned if this will be repeated again.

Explain please how Sprint feels “clunky”? You press one button and pull back on the stick when you want to stop before your meter runs out. What’s so complicated about that?

I’m glad Sprint is included. Every player should have two choices in movement speed.

No, sprint is not something people wanted in halo.

Some people actually understand game mechanics and realise that in a game with kill times as long as halo’s you cannot have an instantaneous sprint feature.

If you look at FPS games it’s not hard to see that every game with instant or near instant kill times has sprint and the ones with longer kill times do not have sprint.

It just happens to be that almost every game out right now has near instant kill times.

I’m perfectly okay with sprint being in the game if it’s done properly. The game shouldn’t be slowed down to accommodate it, like what was done in Reach. It should give you the Boost when you need it, but you should be able to move fast enough to strafe as well.
