I find it interesting to watch the Sprint Vs No Sprint Argument.
One notable thing I’ve seen is that a lot of the Anti-Sprint arguments revolve around the idea that Halo does not need to conform or change to be popular. But, at this point, removing Sprint would be fundamentally changing the game. You don’t suggest that they take sprint out of CoD or Battlefield because it’s been there forever.
And Sprint has now been in 2 Halo games and will be in a third.
Sprint is almost certainly here to stay. Saying it changes Halo and that it should be removed makes no sense because it is now a part of the core Halo experience.
Unless you consider Halo CE to Halo 3:ODST the “core” Halo experience, which it is not. Those game all came out in the past. They were all produced by Bungie (with some help from 343i), which is a different company. The most recent one was in 2009, which is over 5 years ago. It is time to move on.
Also, to better understand Anti-Sprint arguments, I want to know something.
I’ve seen several suggestions to make the default speed 120%. Why?
This does nothing. If used on current maps, it’ll only really remove the flinching, recharge, and such of regular Sprint (which OMG will liek totally break HALO!) and, if fully implemented for good, will just be the equivalent of no sprint (which is the part of the argument I understand).
