Watching a video on gameinformer, one of the guys at 343 mentions that sprint is with you all the time for two reasons:
1: People pick it all the time in Reach anyway, and thus other AA’s are under utilised.
2: It speeds gameplay up.
Now, I’m not a fan of armour abilities at all because what they actually do is replace a thing that you used to have to do in Halo called “thinking,” but that’s not my issue here - it’s the misconception that sprint speeds up gameplay.
MLG are now on their 7th version of gametypes, and they worked out a couple of versions ago that actually, gameplay worked better and was faster without sprint. I can’t remember exactly when sprint was removed, but MLG certainly used sprint from at least versions 1-4, maybe 5.
The thing is, ‘pace’ of gameplay (Which is a very important issue and I am glad 343 seem to prioritise it) is not based on how often you see people, it’s how quickly the kills come in, and sprint allows too many people too avoid to many deaths in which they would have died had they not sprinted away.
Make of this what you will, but I’m fairly certain 343 have got the wrong end of the stick with sprint. I’d rather have no sprint at all and deal with the other AA’s than have sprint and other AA’s.
I couldn’t agree more. Sprint really dulled Reach for me. What ever happened to the suits only allowing the Spartans to move at a sustainable/safe pace? I don’t get it. Sprint should either be a choose-able AA or not in the game at all.

I don’t see why it’s in the game. I also feel like maps could be smaller if you didn’t have sprint - plus they already mentioned that movement speed will be faster than Reach and jump height higher. I don’t see any logical reason to include sprint really.

Grow up. I hardly conducted my post in an immature manner, and this is the only video I have seen which has confirmed that we will have sprint all the time.
> Sprint doesn’t speed the game-play up. It breaks it.
Agreed also. Whilst it sort of offers you more tactics to employ, this isn’t really a good thing when you consider the negatives on offer - being able to run away from countless situations where you would otherwise die.
> if you can sprint you can runaway, if you can runaway you can survive longer, if you can survive longer gameplay is slower…

Exactly. If only they’d read threads like these and understand - but I guess it’s probably to late now anyway.
All of the previous Halos had sprint, they just sprinted all of the time at a rate which was reasonable given the proportion of the spartan to the environment.
This two speed sprint is not a good addition to gameplay, at all.
There are seriously 100 pf these threads already started since sprint was even rumored to be in the game. Grow up and learn how to use the sites features. You were reported for spamming. Read the rules.

Unfortunately that’s sort of like saying: “I wish people would not back down when they were one shot, because then I could kill them.” If sprint is there, you of course have to use it to its full effect.

I use sprint to minimise the downtime between combat situations and objectives. Maybe I’m different to everyone else though.
