I’m not sure what you’re saying.
Maybe you misunderstood what I meant idk.
“Twitchy” is the kind of descriptor that brings up the idea that to be good you need to play 14 hours a day and have high functioning -Yoink!-. (I say that as a Titanfall player with severe ADHD ironically).
Halo has always been a sandbox, which makes it (technically) more akin to Rust, Squad, etc if you stuck them in a confined arena and removed the screeching. Which I know that sounds weird to say, but Halo is more of a purist FPS in that there isn’t a lot of -Yoink!- (looks away from Halo 4 and 5, which I liked, but were uh…“different”).
Speed isn’t a virtue of gunfighting, an abstract example is World of Warships/Racing games where you’re already committed to a line and need to read the situation, you can’t just back out or Adderall flick to hitscan your way out of it.
This last flight felt slow for like 2 games and then I forgot about it because you have weight to your movements. You can’t just rush in and out of this, but more importantly the PACE of the gameplay is fast as hell.
Increasing the sprint speed could mess the whole balance of the match, not to mention I think people seem to forget how a big delta between sprint and normal run can make situations like Valorant WALKING META or just obnoxious ready times out of sprint.
Not to mention TOXICC was an amazing Unreal/Halo clone, but it didn’t get adoption and it’s basically twitchy Halo-ish gameplay.
Idk, I could go on and on about this, but the flight felt good and different from anything else out there in the market. Which the FPS market is pretty quiet, nobody actually likes valo unless they live on Twitch, Goobi killed Siege forever ago (luckily we have Due Process), and everything else is in it’s own niche, unless you wanna talk about Normie Royale.
If sprint has to remain in halo, I think this is a balance I can live with
Its a 9% speed inscrease while sprinting which is enough to get you around the map faster, but not so fast that it becomes a detriment if you chose not to use it.
If anything I’d prefer to leave sprint how it is and go back the radar from the first flight to further balance it but eh…
At this point after sprint being so overboard in H4 and H5 I’ll take what I can get
