I don’t know if anyone has done a topic like this before. But i find myself getting killed a lot because after I sprint my gun will pop up but it still takes a couple of more seconds before the raticle( not sure if i spelled it right.) will reappear and even if i just stop sprinting and try to shoot it won’t work because no raticle is showing. i find myself in a game going for a random ordinance drop and seeing an opponent going for the same ordinace so I try to shoot them but i can’t cause the it takes around 2 to 3 seconds for the gun to pop up again and then another 3 seconds for the raticle to appear and then i find myself getting shot from multiple directions or my opponent gets the ordinace first cause i was unable to shoot him and uses it on me or i amg going to save a teammate that is getting shot by multiple people and because my raticle doesn’t show up on time i end up being an extra kill for an opponent. Halo reach did it good with the concept of sprint where after you stopped sprinting and your gun was popped up again for you to shoot the raticle popped up at the same time as the gun. I hope 343i will release an update that fixes that.
I’m pretty sure it’s to prevent you from sprinting carelessly, and I support it. It might be a little severe, but I definitely support it. If you’re sprinting into me while I’m prepared for you, you should pretty much be screwed.
o i completely agree. If you are prepared for me and see me i should be screwed but if you don’t see me in time n i see u first n shoot i should have the first bullets on you before you shoot me. now i am not saying that if you have an assault rifle or a saw i should win if i shoot you first. But if u don’t see me and we both got BR or basically the same weapon in terms of power but i am sprinting to get a better shot on you and i stop sprinting when i do and my gun is already in the positon to shoot and i got you in my sight but a teammate of yours see me and warns you, you shouldn’t be able to turn around and start shooting me first cause my raticle didn’t pop up yet due to me sprinting but yet my gun was already up and aimed at you. In most games now that couple of seconds extra it takes for the raticle to appear ends up being the difference between you getting killed or just lucky to get a kill.

I agree, but it should go back to how Reach was. The time it takes to be able to shoot again is ridiculous. If it was back to like Reach, anyone sprinting into a prepared opponent, like you described, will be screwed anyway.
Three full seconds before you can shoot, or three full seconds before your reticle is visible? Because I don’t remember either being three full seconds the last time I played Halo 4. :\
“I agree, but it should go back to how Reach was. The time it takes to be able to shoot again is ridiculous”.
I somewhat disagree. I think the time is fine, and I’ve always stopped sprinting just as I’m about to go around a corner or step into an open, popular combat area.
However, I think the relative time might be too long, but I think general gameplay is too fast and hectic (mainly talking about Infinity modes) and that it would be fine of several other factors were toned down a little.
I think rushing should be punished (Boltshot kissing). However that doesnt mean i agree with map-wide sniping with DMR. Medium range seems just about right.
I’ve brought this problem up a wile ago now. Yes I agree. The delay slows down the game and gives an un-fair advantage to campers.
“The delay slows down the game”.
The game could desperately do with being a little slower than it is now, particularly in Infinity gametypes.

If the person running in is good enough he should be rewarded with winning the battle if he is more accurate, not based on who is not sprinting, that’s rediculous. If there needs to be a delay, it should only be at the most half a second. The kill times in Reach were very long, so a delay after you sprint didn’t mean much going into a fight. I feel like every time I play the game against another skilled opponent, it comes down to who was or wasn’t sprinting. It feels un-satisfying when you constantly catch people off guard, just exiting a sprint, and I know how terrible it feels on the other end. It feels like a god -Yoink!- eternity, your weapon is raising up in the heat of combat for 2 whole seconds (which is alot in combat time), your getting shot at, and theres nothing you can do but feel helpless.
If someone catches you in a sprint, your dead. Bottom line. And that isn’t rewarding skill.
It isn’t rewarding gun skill, but it should certainly be teaching them not to run around like an idiot.

Since when was Halo not about gun skill, and not running around? Lol. Play Halo CE on deathmatch again plz.

No you get punished for sprinting like a COD turd by the reticle delay. Play real halo and dont sprint, easy as that.
Also you can shoot immediatly when you exit sprint, if you dont know where the reticle naturally is by now then thats your own lack of skill. I can exit sprint and immediatly start shooting since I know where the reticle will pop up.
This is a lack of skill issue not a game issue. Get better and you wont have this issue. or just make a dot on your TV screen with a dry erase markerand boom, there is your reticle.
Or just get those clear stickers and put them where the reticle goes and you wont have this problem.

I’m not the least bit shocked that these exist, but over 10,000 sold?! At that price? Someone made HELLLLLLLA bank.
EDIT -

This is exactly why I’m shocked about those sales.
Although, since i didn’t have dry erase markers for my old LASO run in Reach, I just cut out a small piece of the sticky part on a Post-It! Note.

Kinda dumb when you can make the exact same thing with scotch tape and a sharpie…

You can’t shoot immediatly when you exit sprint. It’s a 2 second delay always. And if I’m trying to make ground on an enemy possition I just get picked off by campers when I sprint. It’s a loose loose situation.
No its fine. its there so you just cant run around all game killing people. i like it just as i like the stopping power. so people dont get a free pass and just sprint away when their dying like reach. stop trying to make the game easier then it is
Stickers? are they serious? lol !!! Buy a sticker, waste your money and also stay a noob XD
ok I think some of you are misunderstanding me. i am not talking about sprinting everywhere and waiting for the reticle to appear after when i exit sprint before i bull the trigger. I am talking about i exit sprint and my gun is up and i pull the trigger but because the reticle is not up it is not letting me shoot my gun. once my gun is up weither or not the reticle is yet i should be able to shoot like in halo reach where once the gun is in shooting position i can shoot wiether or not the reticle is their.
