I think this is just an easier method since it is a proper poll instead of just posting and having the manually count them. It also stops people from double voting. I’ve seen a few peoples usernames pop up way more than once in that other thread.
Option 1 is fairly self-explanatory.
Option 2 would basically remove Sprint from the Multiplayer portion of the game. Obviously some community testing could be used to try out a few possible movements speeds and see which one works best. Something.
Option 3 would basically add a few playlists like No-Sprint Slayer, No-Sprint Objectives etc, while still having all the regular game modes with sprint. It would unfortunately segregate the community, but it would please more people.

I also thought some of you guys might like to see the results of a few other polls on Sprint. Here is a post from /r/Halo on reddit that has links to 3 different polls. One from Reddit, one from TeamBeyond.net and one from here a year ago.

Those results don’t surprise me at all, in fact I agree with the majority on everything listed.
Don’t know why there wasn’t a -Yoink!- to begin with.
I think the best thing to do is just to have one playlist, called something like Barebones. It will have Slayer and Objective gametypes mixed together with BR starts, where Sprint, Thruster, Stabilizer, Charge and Ground n’ Pound are out of the game. Would probably have to keep the clamber ability as quite a few jumps and jump ups aren’t reachable without it.
It would also make jumps such as the sprint jump thrust to top mid from the Red and Blue high windows to grab the sword at the start of the game on Truth unreachable, which I don’t think should be a possible jump to begin with.
With this option you can still have the new abilities of Halo 5 as the core fundamentals of the game throughout the playlists, but for someone who wants to play a more traditional Halo for a couple matches or if it’s the only playlist they’ll play, they can. Remember, if you disagree with having a seperate playlist with the main abilities of Halo 5 taken out, you don’t have to play it.

I don’t think most people have a problem with thrusters. I’ve been playing MCC lately, and I find myself trying to use them and noticing how useful they would actually be.

There is a Thread at the top right now saying “Thrust ruins this game.” I’m not saying it does and there are people on both sides of that arguement, but is there really anything wrong with having one playlist with the abilities out (except clamber). For anyone who just wants the simplistic style of Halos gameplay.
None of the Above – Change sprint from being infinite to about 5 seconds of use (at most) and also for it to have a cooldown of about double what its usage length is. Sprinting should still not allow shields to recharge.

I’m not so sure thats a great idea. That seems a lot like Halo Reach, and that was terrible implementation of Sprint. I think the reason a lot of people don’t like sprint at all isn’t because its infinite, its because it leaves you at a disadvantage if you just happen to come across someone who isn’t sprinting and they can get their gun up faster.

Why would the results surprise… It’s on Beyond! Lol c’mon now… The most hardcore are not 343’s target demographic… Sorry to say it’s the avg player.
Sprint is balanced fine in the Beta and doesn’t have many downfalls. The real bad guy we need to look at is Thruster Pack. It basically nullifies grenades, and everyone just runs from gunfights so easily with it. Thruster Pack encourages camping too since someone can just stand near a large map object, take a couple shots, and then thruster behind it. Just slows down the game so much

I think the thruster is great. It needs a slightly longer cooldown time to be properly balanced. Grenade spam is a HUGE problem as it is. I’ve been killed and spawn killed by so many random grenades that people throw.
Using cover isn’t camping. Camping is sitting in one spot the entire game picking people off as they come around the corner.

Reported there’s 5 other polls we don’t need another about the subject

On Regret
My position: Floor one of one of the side bases trying to go up to floor 2 of side base
His position: Floor two of one of the side bases looking down at me
We exchange some shots, he thrusters behind a large base wall headed towards top middle bridge
We wait for regen
We see each other I throw a nade, he thrusters behind same wall avoiding all damage
Pops out again and repeat steps 1 and 2 until his teammate comes and helps
The above scenario happens so much. That’s not the Halo we all know. In the Halos we love, we would have had a fight right then and there. We both saw each other at the same time, and we are going to fight to see who has the better shots. But now if they even take a shot, they just boost into cover. There are no good gun fights in a lot of places on the maps. In past Halos, people used cover of course, but would really only try to escape when they were seen first and already have taken 2 shots. Now escape is the first thing people think about.
If it stays in the game it needs serious balancing like sprint has. It needs to affect shields like sprint does, and it needs at least a 8 - 12 second timer to use it again
