So it’s a simple question, do you sprint to return in Halo 5 or not?

Yes!
But as an AA, this allows maps to not have to be built around it for the most part while limiting the player who chooses it…it also can not be spammed like the current iteration of sprint thus making it less abuse-able.
This would not please the classic crowd but it could very well be a middle ground that people will tolerate and this would do the same for the H4 crowd who like sprint but did not like other factors of the game.
I do want to note I am not leaving a vote as AA is not an option here.

I think the most important thing for 343 to do is removing the bad things in Halo 5 like Flinch, Perks, Personal and Random Ordnance and making much better mapdesigns like Halo 3 had.
Im in a 70-30 situation, meaning that i would like to see Sprint going away, but i also want it to stay at least as an AA, if those things return.

I don’t think I’d sprint to return in Halo 5. I’d probably drive to my local GameStop and walk the rest of the way.

While I do not agree I do have to point out this made me laugh A LOT more than it should have.
Ah geez not another one of these polls…
Well since I’m here, if it were up to me, the only variable movement speed would come in the form of a speed-boost powerup on the map, like overshield and active camo.
While I strongly dislike sprint, the chances of it being removed are extremely slim.
Maybe 0.01%
No, if they try then they need at the very least make the maps a decent size because Halo 4 maps were too small so I don’t want sprint in h5 unless they actually make decent sized maps.
For Campaign and Co-Op: yes.
For multiplayer: no.
Extremely shortly said: I think it adds nothing significant to Halo’s multiplayer gameplay and experience but it messes things up or rather makes things overly complicated, especially in relation to maps and their design and hence messes up the entire sandbox.
Why not thinking about another movement mechanic or perhaps even mechanics? Something more unconventional and not so “white-bread” like Sprint and something that actually harmonizes, adds something significant and improves the overall gameplay of Halo’s multiplayer.

whispers Maybe thruster pack?

Thruster Pack = Sprint

That would be one of those mechanics worth thinking about in my opinion.
But of course thinking about beyond its current state of a simple evade mechanic.
Another one would be Jetpack.
Though I think having such mechanics constantly on default and hence creating the entire game around one of them would likely change the game too much and they would likely become annoying or dull after a while.
However, what I think would be interesting and worth some thought is when you would incorporate certain movement mechanics into the design of certain maps. What would mean that you could have special themed and designed maps, like a map that plays with Jetpack or a map that plays with TP for example as a necessary default movement mechanic while the rest of the maps plays “classical”.

How so?
TP does not elongate maps in anyway it also can only be used once and does not do much unless you use it with skill.
Tp will not get you out of a firefight that you could normally not get out of without it.
it would allow a layer of skill to be added…also sprint has cons anyone can see TP does not except maybe “GIMMICK” or “randomness” but I am sorry those both are subjective.
I wholly support the keeping of sprint in halo 5.
It is just what feels natural at this point. When I’m not actually fighting I’m sprinting to a better position. I’m sure others feel this way?
While I liked the fact that Sprint makes Halo more fast paced and while I think it can be implemented correctly I just hope 343 does whatever it takes to make Halo 5 a loved and respected Halo game. If that means removing sprint I won’t complain.
I think if 343 kept the classic gameplay elements like de-scoping, no personal or random ordnance and balanced loadouts much better than Halo 4 could have been much better with sprint.

Personally, I hated Sprint as an AA.
OT: I know many would disagree with me, but guys. Most likely Halo 5 will have built-in sprint. However, I am in favor of both Sprint and No Sprint. If there were only an option to disable them and let the match run as it was with Anniversary Slayer, then of course I can deal with that. To remove it fully, would be a very big mistake. Not to mention, it would be boring especially for big maps.

Could you explain why you think it would be a very big mistake?
I mean, I think removing it from Campaign and Co-Op wouldn’t feel right but removing it from multiplayer?
Plus, there are more than enough ways to design a big map that is fast paced even for infantry and which are definitely more interesting and entertaining in my opinion than simply running around, what I personally think is boring.

Not sure, but i think it has been discussed before how it makes no difference if you have sprint, or not. Its all due to map size and all.
I’ve said it before, and i will say it again. Running faster while sprinting in Halo 4 was an illusion.

Well definitely it should not be removed from Campaign/FF/SPOPS, but in MM/WG if you think about it, to remove it fully would pretty much make the matches slow. Even with the Base Speed increase, that still won’t be enough to make the game fast. I prefer a match that is fast pace, yet it also avoids camping. For instance if someone is camping and shoots another, escaping, that camper is forced to move. Also, to remove sprint means the removal of assassinations, which means, if your behind them, you’ll be pretty much “following the leader” instead of charging up from behind.
