I hate sprint in Reach, I will not hide that fact. I believe it slows down the overall gameplay and that it is a get out of jail free card. In fact, the only time I enjoy playing default Reach is when sprint is not able to be used.
Due to the reasons above, I can’t stand sprint. The idea of it being in another Halo game is actually saddening to me. At least it was until I realized something. Reach is fun (with sprint) whenever the game is upped to a 4 shot kill for the DMR. The faster kill time means that the sprint is no longer a get out of jail free card and sprinting is no longer so fast that you can’t kill someone doing it when they are sprinting a reasonable distance.
The faster a spartan can go (whether it be base speed, or an enhancement like sprinting) the quicker the kill time with the “utility” (for lack of a better term) weapon needs to be. So I implore you 343, make kill times fast enough so that sprinting is not a get out of jail free card, but not so fast that the game turns into COD.
Side note: Adding in some sort of “friction” setting in customs so that we can stop ourselves from slippy-sliding all over the place when trying to strafe on a faster movement speed would be pretty sweet as well.
