Sprint must be used to attack, not flee

Have you noticed that in the most fast paced games you can aim your gun without any penalty after sprinting?. Think on BF3 TDM, or Max Payne 3.
So why in Halo 4 there’s this ridiculously long time to aim after you sprint?, is there any chance to remove it?, because right now sprint isnt useful to attack, but to flee from battle. And that could be easily solved by adding a small “speeding up” animation while starting to sprint, much like Battlefield 3 does when you sprint after crouch, so it would be harder to flee from battles. And if you correct the lengthy animation after sprinting it would also be better to run gun.

This has been stated since they added it to Reach, there is no reason Sprint is in a game with rechargeable shields, as it’s ONLY a defensive tool. A player that is shot, sprints around a corner and now has the upper hand on the player that shot him. how dumb is that…

how about stop sprinting before you run around a corner so you can shoot??..

i swear people complain about such trivial things on here when the answer 9/10 is just play the game better and you will win

There is a delay on shooting but not on melee. Half the fights in Halo 4 are just melee fights.

Ironically, sprint also promotes camping.

Camper: runs away from fight to campy spot.

Everyone else: running around minding their own business when the camper starts shooting. Can’t get their gun up fast enough. Camper wins.

Just play the game better, is your answer. LOL

I have a 73% winning percentage and I play as a single all the time. Stopping before you turn a corner screws you even more with motion tracker. All it does is gives more people the change to pre-nade you.

Sprint should be GONE from Halo, that will start bringing back the Halo feel, which left almost 5 years ago. I understand this wont happen in Halo 4, but many people are on fence this time around with Halo 5. I don’t expect sales to beat Halo 4 sales unless a (GOOD) beta is released.

Sprint is something that should never of been added in the first place.

On topic: having sprint in halo I only use when needed. It should be used as a situational perk rather than sprinting everywhere with no penalties - if this was the case sprint wouldn’t of ever been needed, they could of just increased player movement speed aka left halo like halo.

Sprint would probably be a whole lot more well liked by the competitive crowd if players could not use it once their shields dipped below 50%.

no it would be loved by all

Or if it was removed =)

Actually, it is!

For example, I like to sprint into attack when I’m contesting Top Hill where Railgun spawns. The sprint, I activate as I jump from rock to rock, shooting and killing enemies below.

Another example, if you are in the cave section, top middle on Exile, I wait for someone to fly across to it via the man canon near the Ghost spawn spot. As they are about to land you start shooting them and then sprint and Melee for the kill.

There are dozens of other examples, but, you get the idea. You can sprint into attack!

Sprint is here to stay for halo 4 and in future Halos. It was a mistake to remove things that Halo 3 veterans liked as was the case with Halo Reach and Halo 4; equally, it would be a mistake to remove things that Halo Reach and Halo 4 players like. I thought everyone had learned their lesson by now! It is extremely simple. Two sets of play lists and two sets of game modes for the next Halo. One set for the traditionalists and the other for the Halo Reach/4 fans. Everyone is happy! I’d try and play both sets!

That might help the competitive crowd, but at the expensive of making the game far less intuitive for everyone else.

I thought sprinting players were forcibly slowed down when shot. I know it happened in Reach, and I’ve heard the effect is even stronger in 4. It seems to me like this is the solution for players sprinting out of combat, and the cooldown on weapon usage is the solution to players carelessly using and timing sprint. Am I misinformed? :\

Some maps are pretty big so sprint can be convenient. And it’s funny to see people run away.

Maps are bigger because of sprint.

And I hate seeing enemies run away, I so want to hit the floor when it happens, and if I would hit the floor my hand would be broken several times over.
