Halo fans will never be satisfied. They are too hyper fixated on sprint. Believe it or not Sprint didn’t ruin halo. Halo 4 was ruined by loadouts and ordinance drops. Halo 5 was ruined by a bad campaign, thruster packs, and an over the top movement system. Not sprint. Cry and say “But… but the community hates Sprint!!” “343i never listens to the community!!” but in reality they definitely are.
Sprint aside, 343i has shown they do listen. I remember watching videos and reading forum posts about how they loved the open sandbox of Halo CE’s 2nd mission. They loved how the world, enemies, and weapons interact with each other in a multitude of ways. Look at the demo, the grappling hook is an ability (a pickup for multiplayer NOT like thrusters and ground pound) which interacts with the enemies and environment. Look at the brutes which stumble over their feet when shot in the leg. Look at the grunt which gets kicked like a football into the air to try and kill you (which you can grapple and do some cool stuff with). Master chief has his original armor look too, Ill agree it looks like plastic but thats easily fixed (not to mention how old the build is.)
People ignore the amounts of additions that 343i have made to the world. If sprint is all you care about and that is all that keeps you from enjoying a game then I feel bad for you.
“but… but… it stretches maps!!!” yeah ok then 343i should stop making old maps new, and instead focus on making good maps for the current sandbox.
A lot of people’s hate is unwarranted. The graphics I get, the trailer could of been WAY better, but too many people are critiquing “change” while 10 years ago they were making fun of CoD of how its “The same game every year.” Get a grip and stop being so upset or go to college / learn game design and try to get a spot in 343i if an 8 minute video has that much of an impact on your life.
You’ll get a lot of hate and criticism for this OP, but not from me though.
As a long-time-player and Halo veteran myself, as someone who has invested almost
two decades of his life into this franchise, not just the games, but also the books, the comics, the movies, etc
I wholeheartedly agree with you.

You’re right, sprint is not ruining Halo, 343 is
I disagree, I think sprint is one of the biggest issues plaguing this game series. Like an infection that’s corroding and rotting this series from the inside out. Though i’m not going to rehash arguments from the return of classic movement thread here.

Agreed, sprint is merely a symptom of the disease

Speaking my mind here.
Sprint to me just isn’t an issue just a feature of the game.

Sounds like Halo fans will be pretty satisfied with Sprint gone if we are that fixated on it tbh famalon.
Sprint is a cancer -Yoinking!- ability like thrusters or ground pound.
Except if I had to be forced into one I’d much rather have ground pound or thrusters than sprint.
343 “listening” is not the same as DOING.
I’m not 13 years old anymor, and I don’t get moved by pieces of literal PR a company that has an over inflated budget backed by a multi billion dollar company is pushing out to say, “we care, we’re sorry”, ad nauseam. It’s like caring when a company says they’re sorry and/or listening about accidentally ruining a lake or a coastline because they got caught dumping toxic waste.
Further more YOU have NO idea on what people mean when they state it stretches maps.
WE DON’T WANT MAPS MADE FOR THE NEW MECHANICS IN THE SANDBOX.
WE DON’T WANT THEIR GARBAGE MECHANICS IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Making maps BIGGER/convoluted just because you have to accommodate sprinting, grappling hook, OR ANYTHING is the problem. It isn’t about remaking maps bigger.
As for your solution? Lmfao
Yeah dude just don’t reintroduce fan favorite maps anymore cuz sprint bro good idea!!!
Finally Halo is changing into the same boring conglomeration of ideas as other games like many f2p shooters on PC. It isn’t changing for the better it keeps trying to use ideas from other games because the team is creatively bankrupt. The same people making fun of CoD for not changing were likely people such as yourself.
If it didn’t stretch maps out to accommodate sprint, it would be nearly as much of problem but it slows the game down with not being able to shoot while running.
